But I don't see any evidence that this is a flex. In fact, I have no evidence of what this visit actually is, and the only thing I assume, based on prior behavior, is this is just Pelosi doing something in Pelosi's best interest.

Also, a lot of the chest pounding ITT reminds me of when Russ/UKR started and USA started sending money and missles of peace to UKR to fight a proxy war, rather than brokering peace, and imposed sanctions on RUS. Miscers acting like RUS was FINISHED. Turns out RUS is in a much stronger position as a result of this, will get the land it intended on taking from UKR, EU will be begging RUS for gas in the winter and be willing to pay a premium.
Yeah Pelosi hopped on a US government plane, was flanked with numerous F35s while TWO carrier strike groups moved into the region and risked WWIII while the administration truly didnt agree with her trip.

The odds are this trip has been in the works for months or even a year is almost 100%. The odds that the military was invovled in the planning is almost 100%. The odds that this is an administration level effort/statement is almost 100%. The odds are almost zero that Pelosi got the itch to go to Taiwan, rung up the plane and asked them to throw some fuel in it so she could visit Taiwan while Biden protested.

Hopefully you arent this naïve or goofy. Biden is absolute POTATO but there is zero chance his handlers just stepped back from Pelosi's "personal" trip to Taiwan while she risked BILLIONS of lives and two of the globes largest economies. Geopolitics are a chess game, not a road trip by a drunk.

I literally plainly acknowledged that, assuming that this is actually a FLEX (big assumption), then the WH's statement was bullchit lip service. Reading is hard though so I will help you out.

What blows my mind is how many ppl here think there is NO POSSIBLE FUKKING CHANCE she is doing this out of her own self interest? I mean, why not? She is a famous inside trader. She is an all-talk liberal elite who has never actually done anything to help the working class. She is in favor of low taxes for the rich.

semiconducters are hot right now. Taiwan has a ton of semiconducters. Her husband is a big time investor. Is it really beyond the realm of possibility that this trip is done out of self interest? Hopefully you are not that goofy or naïve to believe there is no possibility of this.

bruh you literally said the exact opposite. Legit said this is Pelosi doing whats in her best interest, and you somehow think our military was backing it 100%.

only thing I assume, based on prior behavior, is this is just Pelosi doing something in Pelosi's best interest.

Apparently reading AND comprehending is hard.

I make a statement about Ukrainians being forced to stay in the country and how that reflects a dictatorship. You avoid the statement and talk about front lines.

You have not nor will you ever (apparently) be able to have a frank conversation about Ukraine. So again, I've intentionally given you no new information to debate me on this topic in an effort to end the discussion and not hijack this thread. Lets keep this thread about Taiwan, deal?

Yeah for you. Read above edits too.

Not surprising that the Ghost of Kiev's biggest fan is taking this position though....

Also, show me the statement where the military is backing this visit? Accompanying her and backing her are not the same thing? Or do you think the secret service backed Trump's Jan 6 insurrection because they drove him to and from the speech he gave?

Martial law is basically declared in Ukraine because their entire Country's existence on survival is at stake. Are you under the impression the US wouldn't take similar measures if under the same circumstance? . I never said it was a perfect Country but it is definitely more "free" than being under Russian rule. meh ill leave it alone now.

They're all corrupt lol. Look at how Biden got that state attorney fired by threatening to withhold aid because he didn't want his sons activities in Burisma investigated. It's just two corrupt regimes fighting for dominance.

Scarrd has pointed out multiple times how this trip would never happen without military being involved in it dude. You then add on the fact someone like the Speaker of the House having not been to Taiwan for TWENTY FIVE years and its a pretty simple concept she didn't go for "personal" reasons.

I like to think Zelensky is akin to Trump in Ukraine. A wealthy man who had no prior experience in politics. They are no doubt corrupt but they are moving in the right direction. Look at their annual GDP graph.

OK, so your source that the military is 100% backing this is posts from Scarrd ITT? Got it - I will assume Scarrd is a 5 star general and you are right on this point.

Of course it was B.S. I didnt think I had to address it...Its clear the actions of the administration took in preparation of this event didnt align with its statements. Do you think two carrier groups just spooled up and sailed into the region without Presidential involvement/approval/orders.

OK, so your source is also based on an assumption that because they are providing her protection they are 100% in support of her visit? And using that same logic, can we say that the secret service was 100% behind Trump's speech about 1/6 insurrection and stolen election because they drove him to and from the speeches?

No he is making the logical conclusion...There are multiple ways to show your logic doesnt hold water...

Pelosi doesnt go into the region if the government of Taiwan and the US government dont agree upon it. There are preparations from both sides made to make this trip happen. Do you think Pelosi just booked a trip through a travel agent and has a reservation at the Howard Johnson for her trip to Taiwan. Do you think government protection hasnt been there for weeks if not months in advance of her visit? Do you think she just called up and scheduled all of that?

Pelosi doesnt go into the region if the military isnt prepped in advance and given approval by the commander in chief

Pelosi doesnt have access to the US military plane that was used nor the escort F35 if the Commander in Chief doesnt approve it.

The military doesnt have to agree with the trip. The military takes orders from the Commander in Chief. There are many times they dont like what they are told to do but they do it. Do you think Pelosi has the authority to even start the process such as ordering up a military plane for her travels? The Speaker of the House does not have this authority or capability. It has to be approved by the administration.

You arent arguing to be right because you arent, you are arguing not to be wrong. One is backed up by facts and the other is backed up by deflection and redirection.

China has been slowly decreasing the amount of US debt it holds. Peak being a bit over $1.3T in 2013. May 2010 was the last time they were under $1T. They ramped up their buying during the Great Recession from around $400B in 2006 to $750B by the end of 2008.

US defaults on the debt, tells China to Fuark off, China doesn’t do chit because nobody really likes them anyway and would back them. USA pays everybody else as normal for good measure.

They've been planning military drills so probably part of that. They are definitely going to try to antagonize and show a strong arm. Lets hope a mistake doesnt happen...

At a minimum they are going to make her entire trip a "pins and needles" event..
