I know it sounds crazy but this is the vibe I'm getting from the whole situation...

I've known him a long time, we've been through some serious chit together. I know you never really know but I would not think he would cheat on her. Especially now that she was pregnant, they've been trying since they got married two years ago. They went to doctors and chit. I might be totally wrong, will update when I find out.

As another miscer said, homeboy either hit his pregnant wife or cheated on his pregnant wife. Either way, he goofed, and he won't talk to OP because he knows he goofed. She divorced him ASAP and aborted her baby rather than have it grow up with no father.
