Just got off the phone with the IRS...

Called a total of 30 times back to back

29 times = "We're sorry due to extremely high call volume we can't take your call. Fuq off cuck." *hangs up*

Mind you each time it takes a couple mins of going thru a call bot, entering in SSN, etc

On the 30th try finally got thru

Wait time is 30-60 mins. (Ofc it takes over 60 mins.)

Finally someone answers. They need to transfer me.

Guy on the line barely speaks english.

Total time spent: 5 hours

People think the IRS is some tough guy mafia chit that doesn't play around, but the reality is that it's a bunch of lazy average / below average people who generally don't make it in the private sector. Also tons of minorities (points are given for being a minority).

That is how the social security phone system works also- after you hold for so long they hang up on you.

No idea why they can't offer to take your number and call you back like some phone systems do now.

With the billions we are spending on so many things how much could a phone system upgrade possibly dent the federal budget?

I swear they use to have it pre-covid. It may be that only certain departments have it doe. And wait time would usually be 30mins-1hours pre-covid.

Yeah no crap and now they even switched to third party people who could be anyone. Most are people who English isn’t their first language and they tell you they are at home and you are giving private info to them. Now you can’t even shoot up a building or anything because it’s a bunch of randoms at home

Lol, if I were president I’d tell everyone, “ok, here’s are new policy. If you call the IRS and they don’t answer within 10 minutes, YOU don’t pay taxes this year!”
