At what age do you plan to retire? (srs)

My career has a mandatory retirement age of 56, but I don't think I'll go that long unless something unforeseen or crazy happens. If my union raises our wages an insane amount over the course of the next couple decades I'll stick around till the end. But generally I'll probably retire at like 50-52

I'm already contributing max payments to my TSP (that's matched by the govt), so along with my pension I'll be more than good

Depends on when I win the lottery, otherwise 70 for the full social security benes.

I plan on getting some kind of farming land by the time I'm 45 and I want to work it until the day I die. Just fukking LMAO @ thinking a few games of golf every week is going to keep you feeling purposeful and like you have a reason to keep living. If you aren't producing anything for the world you might as well just lay down and rot srs. Let that sink in.

opened two businesses last year and they are cranking..will be starting another this fall. With my cabin that I rent out and income from my businesses, I could retire now..not even in my mind, love what I do.

FIRE calculator says I’ll be retirement ready at age 77 lmao. Hopefully circumstances change before then.

Not complaining, as I made some stupid decisions when I was young , so no one to blame but myself .
Heck , I’m so broke now ,first thing in the morning I have to jerk off the dog just to feed the cat .

Don't plan too. Probably will cut back and go as needed/on-call the older I get though. My job involves a lot of travelling and love going all kinds of places. Why retire and have to pay for a trip when I can get someone else to pay for it?

30 year Gov’t pension and access to my annually maxed SBS (State Gov matching 401a) when I turn 54. Also have been maxing out a ROTH 457 Deferred Comp plan for about a decade now.

So I have 10 more years. Will be able to live comfortably off just my pension (70% of high 5 year average, plus another 10% at 65yo if I keep residence in Alaska).

Can’t get here fast enough.
