I have family there and life is rough especially since Covid, resorts and tips are how a lot of people make money there. Travel restrictions screwed alot of situations up for tons of people
Every Christmas I send them a good chunk of money and they are truly blessed, goes a long way there srs. Being poor in NYC you at least have social services to fall back on
