Shrapnel kills more troops than bullets and it's not always from the shell itself. Bullets leave holes, some bigger than others, but generally you can clean them up and survive. Shrapnel is usually larger, jagged in shape, heavier, moves slower and tears through you in the worst way. This is what happens when you get the gear and dress up and play soldier with real explosives and ammo. In military training, more of it is about not getting killed than actually killing the enemy.

First he packs a riding tractor full of explosives. A metal tractor full of parts that will turn to shrapnel. Then he is there shooting at it, up close and wide out in the open.

I’m not a military or cop, but it seems foolhardy to fuk around with explosives when you’re not an expert.

Hell, I learned that from watching Mythbusters when I was 12. Feel bad for this guy but he’s lucky it wasn’t worse. Shrapnel doesn’t care about you. Could have killed him instantly.

There are different kinds of explosives I guess. Some that rely on shrapnel, some that rely on thermobaric pressure and heat, etc. But if you stuff a car with a high explosive, and the rear bumper turns into an ultrasonic meat cleaver and it doesn’t care if it’s your leg or your head.

So basically, don’t play with explosives EVER. Wasn’t there a video of a guy who blew his hand up from a simple firecracker? Our bodies are not evolved to tolerate such forces.
