jesus i don't remember, way better than it should be cause I use the lightest ball i can find and let kinetic energy do the work. If I hit a pin, it's usually a strike. But lotta gutterballs too. But I don't consider it a sport or the participants to be athletes. But I apply that rule to all games.

Wanna e stat your bowling score now?

I rowed competitively for 8 years we can talk about that?

I think Steve Cook is who I heard say it's more of an art than a sport. I'd agree with that. You're mostly creating a piece of art tbh
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Well yeah they’re not athletes in the traditional sense such as running, jumping and swimming against opponents. I do however admire their discipline to lifting, dieting and exercising.

Used to think it's cringe but technically they are right according to the definition

It's just most people consider an athlete as someone using their physical ability within a game with rulesets, not a body judging pageant. And it is kinda awkward when you're not judged on any of the training you've done, just your appearance.

I think bodybuilding contests are like a beauty contests and odd. However, all of the exercise needed to get on stage is amazing and the people have mastered the exercises even if they are on gear.

Being an athlete is a person who enjoys using their body for exercise and that's a passion for them.

The dumb definition here is that you have to be "on TV" have some kind of "rating" etc and that's how losers think.

Your friend isn't an athlete because he's not "official" and so no one can be an athlete, so why try?

It's a typical "misc" way to think.

Of course bodybuilders are athletes. This is a reiteration of the stupid 'bodybuilding isn't a sport' trope.

Of course bodybuilding is both athleticism and sport. This silly idea is premised on the ludicrous notion that bodybuilding is only the end product on a stage with fake tan and performance routines. It isn't. The sport is the lifestyle. The hours in the gym, the extreme dieting, the cardio first thing in the morning, the meticulous planning of one's life around the meals and workouts etc.

It's something you live and breathe, and if old fuks playing tennis once a week in a retirement village counts as sport, bodybuilding sure does.

Did you ever play tennis or any sport?

Tennis is a very difficult sport if you are playing with a competent player.

Badminton is or was the national sport of Malaysia for instance. I used to play that with people from there and it was like playing against Bruce Lee.

I have biked 100 miles more than a few times. I had a supervisor who used to bike from Philly to NYC and back for fun, but you never heard of him nor has anyone else.

A big issue on the misc is having the mind of a homosexual, I'm not talking about you.

Being a "homo" is flipping out about the achievements of others and thinking everyone who does anything needs to be famous.

I often tell people on here to read their post to themselves in a "gay lispy" voice and see how it sounds. That goes for the OP's post.

I can't stand how these bodybuilders say they're athletes!!

Read that in the voice of an extreme ****git and you will get my point, stamp your foot while saying it.

Sure it takes athletic skill but I don't view games as sports. So tennis or football - I don't consider them sports.

I played a lot of things as a kid, then focused on rowing

You are making up your own definitions then.

If you look up the definition of "Sport" you can see tennis, football, etc are sports. It's physical excursion using some skill to compete against others for fun.

Someone could say "rowing" doesn't take skill but it does because you have to train to do it right, use teamwork to coordinate movements, etc.

I used to play tennis all the time when I was younger and a friend of mine was really skilled. The thing with tennis is that if you know how to hit the ball you can make it do tricks, thus making it hard for someone better than you to beat you.

For instance, you can put "back spin" on the ball by hitting it a certain way, then when it hits the ground it will not bounce forward, but backward. So, your opponent is ready for the ball to come toward them but really it bounces away.

So, you have physical excursion, skill with how to hit the ball, and you are competing for fun.

Weird sports like curling are similar to Italian Bacce Ball and require fine motor skills to move the objects in ways to win the game.

There's a range of sports.

All sports are games of competition.

Meanwhile, if you go for a bike ride by yourself, that's not a sport, it's athletics.

I tend to engage in athletics which are personal exercise goals that I have for myself. I don't care to "beat" Fred at biking because I think that's silly.

However, if I am challenging Fred to a bike race, then we are engaging in a sport. If I challenging myself, then I am engaging in athletics.

Look up the word "game" and the definition will surprise you.

All sports are games.

Not all games are sports though, so that's where you are confused.

Wrestling is a game.

Track is a game if multiple people are competing or if your time, etc are compared to others.

Bodybuilding doesn't sound like a sport/game and I didn't used to think it was, but it is.

Bodybuilding is like showing up at a race, that you can't see, and you are at the finishing line.

So, the contestants have done all of this exercise and planning, then show up on stage/finishing line, and got the best results.

In my opinion, it's really pushing the limits of the definition though, but it still is a contest of skill and physical exercise.

All sports are games.

Not all games are sports though, so that's where you are confused.

Wrestling is a game.

Track is a game if multiple people are competing or if your time, etc are compared to others.

Yeah I'm not confused. I don't consider games sports. I don't consider track a game.

You have what's called an Idiosyncratic Thought Process which is a hallmark of mental illness, typically Schizophrenia but it could also be something like Narcissistic Personality Disorder or which you seem to have many traits.
