1.5 acres 35 mins outside a world class city. 35 mins from pure farmland. Best of both worlds.
Minus the property taxes. Fuuuuuuu.

Countrycels are also happier. Citycels seem to be the ones polluting misc with misery.

Right after college is the perfect time to work in a city. You’re surrounded by other ambitious people your age, easy to try hobbies, extend your college partying years, date around, work for big companies, and you don’t mind living in a chit box apartment because your college housing likely sucked.
There are a ton of people who live in suburbs right after college and get bored fast and then find dumb ways to instill drama into their lives because they never had that party phase
That said I live in LCOL country now and recently spent a week visiting people in NYC. Good god you couldn’t pay me to live like that in a major city again:
- brb absurd rent
- brb you still have a window unit air conditioner at best, no closet, no in unit laundry machine
- brb can only go for a run outside at Central Park, everywhere else polluted to hell
- brb “check out this restaurant! Check out this (insert gimmick here) bar!”. Oh well Latin inspired ramen bowls and random themed cocktail bar. Again, cool as chit at 23 but when you’re older you see it for what it is and know it won’t be around in 5 years
- brb what else is there to do? More restaurants ?
- brb $80 bill
- brb smells like chit, public transport is awful , etc
Can go on and on. Not to say that burbs don’t have drawbacks but can’t IMO cities are for poor immigrants and broken degenerate people looking to extend their youth into their late 30s and 40s.
The GOAT are small town squares. You get the walkability of a city (can walk to bar, restaurant, gym, coffee shop, park, etc), with unique snd historical architecture you don’t find in burbs but more privacy and land. Really is great

And most people who fall into general labor don’t want the responsibilities that comes with doing things on their own schedule. They want to work then party as hard as they fukkin can until they crash. And do it again.
Claiming everyone in the country is a tradie laborer is a very laughable claim when ratio’s against 9-5 cubicelcels and shareholder overlords, even ceos working on other peoples time.

If my olfactory organs got assaulted to that level every time I stepped out of my 200 sq ft apartment I'd be an azzhole too

Countrycel is GOAT but here's the thing....
Most country side living jobs are either: tradies/factory work...and a few teachers, cops, doctors, etc.
Hard to get a good paying job.

Never lived in a rural area. It sounds like it’d be great for a season or two, but the isolation and lack of amenities would get tiring.

40 acres, inc 3 acre lake, less than an hours commute to the centre of the city.
Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......

Very creative username OP.
I've been leaning more towards rural areas to live as of late. Big city crime risks are now something to seriously consider depending on the location.

Live right in the middle of 18,000 contiguous acres… wouldn’t trade it for anything.
