Came across the information that said that the tiger is built for hunting and killing. They are very fast, and are designed to take out the prey as fast as possible. Bears, on the other hand, will simply go to gathering berries etc. when food is scarce. They are not built to hunt prey the same. I guess this is the difference between a trained killer versus someone who is just simply very strong in large.
Edit; I see Frank already pointed that out

It is doing nothing to a Kodiak bear.

Fuark wouldn't want to fight one of those things even if I was a hundred feet off the ground in an Apache helicopter. Fukker would just catch the bullets and throw them back, pull me out of the wreckage and eat my dink and Angus while still alive srs.

I think a leopard and a jaguar stand a chance with their agility and style of attacking.
Elephant no, despite the size difference, the elephant is just too slow.
A rhino has a chance as well.
Bull moose have come out the victor before.

I doubt a 250lb leopard would be able to get to the bears neck

Not sure if they ever put rhinos or elephants in with them. One of them used elephants in wartime though and maybe that’s why they didn’t want to sacrifice them.
My memory is vague on this, so feel free to correct

Bears against anyone (not elephants though), and supposedly the bear beat everybody easily.
Tigers, lions, jaguars (lol) are not doing chit to a kodiak.
I don’t see hippos doing anyhing either, because their skin is too thin (or maybe it’s not?)
Rhinos maybe, but I don’t see how it can defend a swipe from a bear paw and it’s only real attack is to sting with the horn.

If anything, they wanted to tigers and lions to win - at least some of the time.
The issue is this:
No tiger or lion is going to get close enough to kill a grizzly bear without getting hit by a swipe of the bear’s paw… unfortunately, the tiger/lion have very weak skulls and one hit from a paw kills them or fuks them up so bad that they might as well be dead.
There is no way for any cat to beat a grizzly bear, let alone a kodiak.

It a lot of a mental game with animals. I have seen really confident smaller animals scare bears away. If a bear is not in right mental state he is weaker than if he is aggressive and confident. An aggressive bear that os confident is unstoppable. I’ve seen them rip cars off of doors like we open ip cans of pringles. And have seen their claws shred car doors like its paper.
