The Orioles are officially in the playoffs right now. Love this for them, srs


I just looked at their schedule and they play the Jays 13 more times this year. Jesus. Well their fate is definitely in their own hands with that many left against another WC contender. We’ll see how it plays out for them.

Fkn love that the O’s are competitive now. We play then so often and their games have always been must-skips. Now they’re actually meaningful.

I think the Braves did themselves in on this one. $72 mil for Harris over the next 8 years

2 years of prearb, 4 years of arb and 2 years of free agency

First year of arb let’s say gets $5 mil, 2nd year $8 mil, 3rd year $12 mil, 4th year $15 mil

Then let’s say his two FA seasons after get him $20 mil per

That’s only $80 mil for all 8 years there. And that’s if he played well and everything went right. $8 mil discount at $72 mil doesn’t really seem like enough to remove the year to year approach like this.

I’m happy he’s locked up and I think he’ll be good for a long time so not necessarily mad, but this wasn’t the best deal. It’s not a terrible deal either, but Braves take the L on this one imo

Didn’t really expect to win this one. Would have been a nice bonus but not in the cards.

They absolutely do need tomorrow to stay in the hunt though. 3 of 4 is just fine. Leaves us 3.5 back. Picking up 2.5 games before the series at the very end of Sept against the Mets is doable. Then you’re only back 1 with a 3 game set at home.

That’s the formula to get back in this thing.

But they gotta win tomorrow, can’t afford splitting and gaining no ground at this point.
