You need to at least be able to win rook and king vs. rook and pawn and king vs. king at intermediate level imo. If you can trade down to a winning end game it should be easy to mate them.
I recently downloaded an app called Dr Wolf that teaches strategies. You can set up scenarios like this. I’m going to just practice those until I get them down. Maybe then I can try to challenge some of y’all. My early game is strong AF, so once I get this down, I think I can bring some challenge to y’all…maybe lol

You can try here too. Basic training exercises for free. Should really take you a few mins to learn a rook + king vs. king or queen + king vs. king checkmate.

I had above average slightly. When my brain started feeling weird I went to get a test my doctor referred me to a neuropsychologist for a 5 hour test to see if I had a learning disability but she ended up saying no I'm just average 101 +/- 3 but was 98th percentile in verbal sections and 50th percentile in some logic sections, idk what the other stuff even was, had me do weird pattern predictions that made no sense with flash cards and things.

edit: but anyway I think I could beat a lot of newer to intermediate people with stafford gambit if they accept the gambit or if playing white I like the london system.
