Doesn't matter if he toyed with the idea or wanted to change it years/decades after it was written. This is how it was written and should stay that way without the interjecting of modern politics. As per wiki:

This is beyond annoying.


One of the most annoying parts of all of it is that I guarantee the black roles will be characters that are morally or intellectually superior in many ways. That's what writers like this do. They can't just cast black people in a normal role, when they cast them, they basically make them the saviors or the oppressed people who are morally superior and so strong, so superior, that they rose to power and conquer others. It's like a weird fetish. They can't just make them flawed like the rest of the white characters, and it makes it so obvious.


I LOVE shows like The Wire because they had a diverse cast and didn't do that weird thing where every black actor was a superior-in-every-way character in the show.


edit: It is also funny that diversity is ALLLLWAYS black people, they don't care one bit about Native, Indian, Hispanic or Asian people except once in a blue moon. Why not give us an Asian culture in GoT? They can't.

I saw one of my Black female friends whining that the Black female character got killed in the show.

Me personally I've had a few of my white friends tell me to start watching GoT but it's hard for me to get into a series. I don't like medieval/fantasy personally.
