Is there any good reason to buy designer clothes?

I don’t get why people make such a big deal about designer clothes nowadays. I can just go to target and get 3x times the amount of jeans that I would pay for 1 pair of designer jeans. I don’t see any benefits of buying designer clothes after 21

if you ain't got no money, this is about to be a real short conversation, you dig?

i buy designer clothing but no apparent brand on the items

mostly comfort, quality (not always the case though, depends on the brand), fit, cut, etc.

also designer varies - you can buy a 200$ t-shirt or 1000$

edit: i forgot to say, also i guess we all do it to look good

Pretty much this. I have some Ralph Lauren shirts with just a super small logo on the bottom that fit me perfectly and a pretty good quality. Just a basic one color shirt and I don't feel like I wearing an advertisement for the company.

Recommendation: buy regular (not cheap) clothes and have them tailored to fit you. The end result is usually better looking than much more expensive clothes.

I do buy Ralph Lauren but I don’t even consider it the high end of designer brands. I was referring more to brands like Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vutton etc

Think Sword recommended sonofatailor.com and I ordered a few shirts from there. They fit exactly how you want them to fit and are really good quality. On the more expensive side though.

Yeah, fuk that. I'm not spending more than $100 for a t-shirt. RL probably isn't considered designer, I just like them because they don't have stupid big ass logos on them and fit really well with decent quality.

Those are the 3 series of high end. They are often mostly there to flash the logo. Take mens shoes for example. Most people don’t recognize John Lobb or Edward Green, even though they are often more expensive than Gucci loafers. And that’s the point. If you’re comfortable with your lifestyle, you don’t have to flex it.

going to start doing this, i just need to find a good tailor, have always had bad experiences getting things tailored in the past, they always want to make it too tight per "modern" style. but comfort is my no. one priority

Mostly wear Lu Lu / kit and ace for comfort, fit, and durability. Don’t Fuk with designer jeans, chit a rip off.

Cheap clothes wear out and look chit sooner so the higher price on Lu Lu / kit worth it.

Won’t spend more than a hundred on a polo, so have designer in that range - Ralph Lauren, Fred perry etc.

Chit with a Gucci or Versace logo on the front is not it mang.

I love designer clothes, especially for certain brands like banana republic or colehaan. Mom used to take me shopping there as a kid even though we were lower class income.

It’s part of the reason why I have very high self esteem.

But I only shop there for certain clothes like regular t shirts or boxers since they fit and feel nicer.
