Most people are getting their rent raised by massively higher numbers than $100. Be thankful that’s all they raised it by.
I probably banged your mom.

we got rent control here. this is not legal. its usually 1.5-2% increase. i will fight and win in court but for now i have to pay. its stoopid and not sure why you wood want to get rid of a tenant who always pays on time. now he gonna find out the hard way not to **** around. i will start spitting on the carpet and pissing in corners. run the tap excessively. dumb****.

My rent went from $1450 to like $1750 srs. Wish it was only $100. I make 3-4 times OP's $40k though so I don't feel it as much.

I went from 50k to 165k in 4 years.

I applied to over 500 jobs during that time each one being another rung on the ladder. I studied and completed my masters degree and achieved various certifications.

What the **** did you do besides cry and bitch?

My rent went from being $825 in 2020 to $1300 in 2022 when I re signed lease. And I "make" $19,800 a year. I am pretty much fuked but I have reduced my bills as much as possible and can barely scrape by as long as nothing bad happens. Luckily I stocked up on a few years worth of food in 2020 with the trump checks and my mom pays my internet bill for me as a gift. Got a $45 voip phone year of service for $45. Got my truck insurance down to $30 a month, put it on "storage" insurance where I can only drive 5 miles a month. I dont buy things really. Got a year worth of laundry detergent by ordering the 80 pound tub of commercial stuff etc gotta look for ways and be thrifty stop complaining

You working part time? Or is your age correct and you’re taking social security?

If you’re not old get a better job op. Tradies making double your income easily. If you’re actually old get on assisted living. A few of my older family member stay in these pay like $300 a month rent utilities included

I'm a good tenant and look after my rental like it was nearly my own.

Wrote a letter to property mgmt asking them not to raise rent and it worked.

I'm also a 40K pleb OP.

Work my arse off though.

I'm 33 now, the age when I signed up here defaulted to the Unix epoc january 1st 1970 for some reason, and idk how to change it.

I went to welding school but could not get hired anywhere. I live in a red state and the only union is the ironworkers union and I passed all 7 of their weld tests but they wanted to pay me $15 an hour before union fees and taxes to drive 2 hours each way to do scaffolding in orlando for a 2 year job with no per diem etc. I went to the shipyard and they wanted to pay me $11 an hour and it looked like all the coworkers did not speak english. I got offered to weld trailers for $13 an hour but it was an hour each way drive etc. Could make more than that working at a frickin grocery store. Those were the only places out every single place I called, showed up to, applied to, that would interview me and give me a weld test. My old instructor told me I have to lie and say I have 3 years experience. Wtf how do I lie about that when idk how a shop is run?

I am on the GI Bill now going to school full time for cybersecurity and I should be done by may 2023. I am trying to do a "speedrun" and get this crap done asap so I can get some sort of IT job but I am kinda a weird guy, not looking forward to the HR whores screening game for hiring but that is in the future. Gotta stay positive and get my **** together

That is not true. I have applied everywhere. Even waste management to weld dumpsters and fix trucks, CSX Rail wouldn't give me an interview or test without 5 years verified experience. I live in Florida. There are no union spots here and they do not pay well like all the boomers claim. The trades meme might have been true 20 years ago but the migrants have all lowered the cost of labor and do **** poor job at their jobs. I had my AWS 6g SMAW certification and could not get hired anywhere other that 3 **** tier pay places. Not going to drive 2 hours each way to put up scaffolding and not even weld for 2 years up at dangerous heights for $15 an hour, until I am done with the apprenticeship, this is ridiculous.

To get hired for a city or county, you have to know somebody. I dont know anyone. And what the fuk would the city or county be welding on other than maybe some pipes or boilers? They outsource that
