What is bare minimum respectable salary to you (srs)

What is the least amount of money you think you would be happy with as a salary - assume it will only increase at a standard rate of 5% for the rest of your career.
COL is important factor but for where you currently live or aspire to live, what is the minimum salary you would be satisfied with?

For me I think the number is 75k but with inflation, it's probably closer to 80-85k now. Poll incoming

$150,000 is honestly what I think I'd like to be making right now. Maybe 160,000 with inflation

I was going to put that as my answer but for bare minimum I think I'd be happy with half of that

$100k used to be respectable before 2020. In 2022, you're barely affording fast food a few times a month. srs.

I think $150k is the new $100k.

Put $75-100k but that's just my income. Wife and I are comfortable with a 1 year old son at our current combined ~$125k, not "well off" but not close to struggling either.

Financially independent at the low end of the range owning my education crew. Not among the best but still feel like I can do whatever I want is liberating.

This probably greatly varies by where you live. In SE PA, I can get by on $60,000/year. Won’t be going on any fancy vacactions with that but could probably get by. In Seattle on the other hand, I can’t imagine any kind of tolerable standard of living on under $150,000/year.

Other point for brahs to consider:

A *huge* part of the answer here is gonna depend on how long you've been a homeowner. Our mortgage is $2300. It would be $3700 if we bought the same house today with 5% down like a first-time buyer. That's like $20k more gross income we'd need.

Also- the difference between $70k middle
-class and $100k middle-class is usually how much money you're actually saving/investing, not how comfortable you are day to day.
