to any of you brahs in here that do MMA, does late 30s make it tough to really fight or compete in a martial art?

Wasn't Romero doing it at 40 and DC didn't start till 30?

fuark man i hate this high altitude chit.

too bad luke rushed that transition to mount in the second round. could have changed the outcome of the fight because luke's top game is second to none

Romero and DC are olympian wrestlers..their gas tank/ athletecism was always top tier..
If you're talking about regular joes like you and I, you bet your ass that Cardio sucks worse and worse as you get older.
You can still compete and fight but don't expect to be more than a amateur fighter..and even that's stretching it. Those amateur MMA fighter are freaking beasts.

once youre past 30 , its downhill from there , specially when it comes to speed,power,stamina,endurance and most important recovery ..... theres always a few exceptions....like Tom Brady,Cristiano Ronaldo or drago "the navy seals brah" but yeah for majority of the people its time to sit back and relax

Gotcha brah. Is 30 too old to start MMA for the sake of getting good at fighting and holding your own against most dudes out there in say a bar or club fight? Obviously I would think even amateur fight is out of question at that point.

less muscle than Usman, less oxygen required. This might favor him in the later round.

too old to start? no way you can learn a lot and actually be a good fighter to hold your own in the streets.
Obviously as you get older, the bigger issue is makign the time to actually step on the mat and train.
Going twice a week is not going to cut if if you want to get good...you have to go 4 times a week at least.
Then again..goign twice a week for 10 years might be worthwhile.
Bottom line, you're not too old to train and learn how to handle yourself. You're 30...not 60.
