So here are my thoughts after the fight and what I was going to say after I thought Usman was going to win this by decision. IMO, I think that regardless of how this went, this was going to be Usman's peak. Khamzat was going to come in to clean him up and beat him after I saw how round 1 went. The thing is he fought Colby but Colby lacks that knockout power needed to put Usman away. Even those fights, both of them, were close. Khamzat was going to be like Colby with serious KO power.

If you watch the fights Usman had with Colby, especially later rounds, and even the one he had against Burns, he does not have that great of standup. Sure he KO'd Jorge but Jorge has no grappling whatsoever. Colby caught Usman with nasty strikes left and right but he lacks the KO power to finish people. Go back and watch the fights, Usman leaves himself very open to some powerful strikes. Khamzat is the future of the UFC WW Division.

I think Usman comes back, he probably wins the rematch against Leon, but if he faces Khamzat then he is completely finished.

Best thing about this knockout is that it couldn't happen to a more deserving person, a minute before the end of R5. Brilliant and beautiful, everything about it.

Usman is a twat. Narcissist with overinflated ego and a bad attitude who always whines about people not respecting him - tonight we saw why people don't like him. SNOOZEman. Wastes time hugging opponents at the fence, no submissions, bores people to death to get decision wins. He got a bit better in the past few fights but today he was back to his old habits. Not beating Anderson Silva's record, no legacy for you prick.

Leon Edwards, on the other hand, the guy had 9 wins in a row and waited for this "title shot" moment his entire career. Congratulations.

Man, mma is an interesting sport. The trill of victory, and the agony of defeat. This is arguably a very tough loss for Usman. This fight reminds me of the Glover Teixeira fight, because all he had to do was playing it safe and cruise for a victory. I literally thought this fight was over. Leon got wrestlefucc, but he's the winner of the fight.
