Ex fiancé reached out 11 weeks after BU

To say happy birthday, she texted me but wouldn't agree to come over to my house for "dinner" one night

I was surprised usually my exes come back and will try to get back together, a guy is probably still in the picture and I had told her I wasn't interested in a friendship when she asked for one at the BU.

This was probably the most difficult BU I've had because I was considering marrying her at one time. I feel like it set me back mentally

She still watching every single thing I post on Instagram. Maybe it's kind of weak but I enjoy her watching me improve my life. I know in a way that makes me a butthurt **** like I'm trying to prove something but I started working on myself the same day of the breakup the cut started and the progress is starting to be obvious.

I quit vaping and took up Spanish classes. Linked up with some broads of the past and got a few new ones on deck. Took up some old hobbies again (rugby) and met up with some old friends.

Still I feel absolutely horrible and guilt ridden on some days like today. Instead of taking the relationship serious when I had a chance I instead allowed her to grind up her feelings for me down to nothing as I assured myself I wasn't ready to settle down and whatever happened was for the best.

I guess two things can be true at once, it sucks ass but my it was probably for the best. I couldn't even get my ass motivated when I was with her... I feel like a bitch for needing a chip on my shoulder to get my ass in gear. If anything useful comes from this it is that I can't keep doing it like this. I've got to keep my ass in gear all of the time instead of taking long ass complacency breaks

Maybe the trauma of ending an engagement led her to make a conscious decision she was done with you and was going to move on regardless of what improvements you've made or how you matured.

Also, 11 weeks is not that long.

I'd expect a year+ to go by for her to process, grow/change, and then decide if she ever wanted to check in to see if you two still have something.

It's good she didn't agree to come over. Jumping back in bed with her at this point (even just for a one time thing) when you clearly still have feels would be 100% the wrong thing to do. She just wanted to be friendly and wish you happy birthday. Just take it for what it is and don't try to be any more friendly than that.

fuk that like I'll be over her by then if not god help me. You're probably right though and it is a great way to summarize it. I don't think it's my fault someone built me up in their mind so much. People build you up to what they want instead of what you actually are and they love their ideal version of you.

If you guys were serious about marriage then taking a year+ to really move on is not uncommon. I've gone through two engagement breakups. First one was the toughest as she cheated on me, but we had our problems for a while. I could never forgive her for it, but it still took a couple years before I was REALLY over her for good (she's a single whale now lmao). Second one was just a mistake on my part as I was still definitely affected by the first one and had no clue what I actually wanted. Now I'm happily married to someone who is independent and not a pushover. I'm also the same way now. It's cliche, but you really need to understand how to be happy by/with yourself before you'll be truly happy with someone else. If you "need" to be with that person, it won't work out. You have to "want" to be with them instead. Took me a while to realize this and took some maturing and growing up on my end as well. But yes, these things do take time, and everyone is different.

From what I remember of your break up thread you weren't engaged and didn't want to get engaged and that's why she ended it.

Lmao at men playing this " let me stunt on my ex through ig posts / stories"

She obviously knows why you are doing that. Trying hard to impress females is a turn off

And if you broke up , you have 0 business still following each other.

Don't forget, she's getting railed by a Chad she deems to be of higher value than you, and she won't come back until said Chad dumps her. He is doing things to her body that she wouldn't let you do. Guaranteed. Don't take her back if she tries.

Do NOT yank it to naughty pictures of her, or memories of her in the spank bank. You can do that later, once she is just another silly memory of a happy life experience.

It takes awhile to get over a fiance. Mine cheated and I nexted her immediately. She was already onto some manlet simp. She initiated contact a few times, and all I wanted was angry sex, so decided to find other girls to mount.

The next girl was 1000x hotter and we had hours of sex every day, and all weekend long. Crazy nympho babe, lasted a year, but you can't turn a nympho into a housewife, so we parted ways amicably. The withdrawal from nympho sex is on an entirely different level. You'll find something better soon.

Good way to remind yourself how powerful the mind is

The perception of your environment has a huge impact on so many different inputs that lead to a different outcome

You can get over someone, grow individually, and end up getting back together.

In fact I'd argue it'd be way more likely to work out in this scenario than if people got back together during the "but I miss them" phase.
