I think more people make that money but they are business owners who move their money around so they don't actually make that much money but they invest the profits of their business back into growing their business so their actual wealth is massively growing but their income is only what they need.
Anyone making a wage, working for someone else, who gets a W2 aren't that common, those who are younger are like you said, very rare. Vast majority of those who make that kind of wage are those who have a lot of experience in their field with a skill set and position they can command that kind of money but they usually have grey hair and are towards the end of their careers. Here on the misc you have 25 year old fresh out of school people in senior positions, consultants. Yeah right.
If you want to pretend you are something more than you are, fine, but don't come on here giving advise to others that isn't true.

130k plus bonus 20k working for top tier investment bank in the FO, work normal hours though.
I consult on side which will be another 60k
I have a side education business which is exploding right now but I’ve predicted that earn about 20 to 30k I honestly believe that at scale I’ll probably get it much higher in the next few years so a lot of work building that.
I work about 60 to 70 hours a week though I also live in a rich part of Sydney unlike gojirra who lives in a surburban ****hole. I also have two kids one in London one in asia for which I’m basically paying for an apartment in London to keep that bich happy, but I’m in shape and still fcuk younger girls so it’s good.
The key is that I’ll be living half in Latin America and half in Asia by the time in forty but still pulling in 150 to 200k to cover costs and love a good life. I have two apartments jn Perth but pay minimal mortgage and they are still years away from being paid off, I’m thinking of buying ankther house in a couple years as Australian property prices are collapsing. I’m also qualifying to be a immigration lawyer in Australian now but it’s on pause for another 6 months. But this will allow me to make sig fugues as my own business wherever I want. Plus my other sources of income.
I’m very dynamic though and well educated. Most Americans especially on misc never leave their home towns so for this reason alone most people will never make this kind of income. Rather just whinge on here.
I also don’t drink and if I went out just one day a week drinking none of this would be possible. I attribute my success to almost 10 years of sobriety and if I had not waste 18 yo 27 drinking and drugging who knows what else I would of achieved maybe I would be worth 10 million or an expert in my field either way it’s the journey that makes the man.
Another point they is the reality here that American didn’t understand is that you average Australian is 6 times wealthier than your average American so one day my parents will die and me and my sister will receive about half each of the 6 million In property assets which is not that unusual if you grow up in Australia.

Wasn't gonna post ITT but realized I'll be at $200k gross probably in a year or 2.
Currently my base is $110k. Bonuses and OT bring it to $140k+ easily, but if the OT is killer then $150k+.
The next promotion I get, I lose hourly pay / overtime, but get a major base pay boost, and one of my bonuses gets doubled. At that point I expect my basepay to be like $145k-150k srs, then my bonus would bring it to $180k. Another annual pay bump in 2024 would put me at $190kish gross, and then 2025 would be $200kish gross. Another promotion is possible too but that one is hard AF to get.
I do cyber security, work from home, for a big corpo.
Reqs to get where I'm at: Certifications, multi-year experience (but you gotta start somewhere, likely making $50k-70k in entry IT / Cyber), a Bachelor's degree even if it's irrelevant to make your life easier. "Can do" attitude. Get results, either through your own clever techniques or through other people in / out of your team. Don't let things fall, keep up with what's on your plate. Volunteer for work that no one wants to do, especially if the reason is because others don't know how to do it (even if you don't, you'll learn). Be open-minded about leaving external, know your worth, threaten to quit after you get an external offer, don't be complacent.

I know you don’t work in finance because your lying about your wage and everyone in USA lies about their wage in investment banking.
I’m in front office but my bonus is not tied to performance, also in Australia we are rewarded accordingly because APAC brings in much more revenue per person compared with USA. That’s why all the layoffs in Finance are happening in NY and no where else cause you see useless there.
I don’t need to work hard and hope my performance bonus, I’m paid a salary accordingly that covers my high bills, because Australia always pays higher than USA, except for maybe a period in the 1980s to 1990s Australia always paid more even back in gold rush days. Also don’t need to worry about working 100hrs a week so I don’t lose my AETNA health care. We used to lay more taxes in Australia but under Biden with inflation that is no longer the cased. Thats why everyone is here in Sydney and Singapore.
What do you do pal? Probably nothing just listen to your mate who works in structured debt finance 4th tier toilet bank lie about his salary lol

this is considered slightly UNDER market, but my bank is somewhat stingy on pay (reputation for that).
we pay first year employees post MBA 175 base, 175k bonus with a 50k sign on.
first year employees out of undergrad get 110 base, maybe 90-100k bonus.
many firms are WELL above where we are (ded fkn srs).

I have worked in New York London Singapore and Sydney for a bunch of banks, I think I know what I'm talking about.
Americans always lie about their salary in this industry. Many include their health insurance in their salary as well. oh my salary is 100k plus sign on plus secondary payment plus bonus plus 401k plus health insurance after federal and new york state taxes = 120k BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.
They also think Bankers in London make "salaries" lol London bankers make day rates because everyone in the UK is a corp to corp contractor or umbrella paid. London bankers make the same as NY, hence why the cost of living in London is the same as NY, you muppet.
New York pays the worse out of Asia, If new york paid so well, but is APAC full of new yorkers, each one of them will tell you that they get paid more in Singapore or Sydney.
If my role was more revenue-generating I would get a bonus of 4-6 months my salary, but I would have to work a lot more hours so I choose to be smart and put my time into other things. but my role will be about 2 months, maybe 1 month if things are bad maybe 3 months if things are good. I also get paid a compulsory 401k match which is about double what you get, but thats not includeed in my salary because its not revenue and I can't touch it until i'm older without suffering a alrge penalty.

I work in science and engineering consulting.
I worked for other people for several years and then sold everything I owned and used that money and some licensing fees from patents to hire 4 juniors WFH so that I could start running small projects myself.
I lived in a 400 sqft rental apartment and worked 80 hours a week for years and plowed every penny back in to hiring more people and doing larger projects.
We now have ~2000 people and in addition to the consulting, we do oursourced R&D and product development.
COVID was a big financial hit and I ran at a loss to avoid laying anybody off, but things are getting back to normal now.

Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!

I know you don’t work in finance because your lying about your wage and everyone in USA lies about their wage in investment banking.

You must be in some basic support role. Risk? Settlements? At that pay level you are junior and not front office like you claimed.
I’m in Australia at the moment and pay more in tax than you make from your ‘bulge bracket front office job with experience in London, NY and Singapore’. I’d give details, but it would honestly be embarrassing to get into a dick measuring contest with a loser like you.

Figures that every miscer would be a multi millionaire/billionaire making 100s of thousands of dollars a year.
Srs though, I started working in sales for siriusxm radio and its the best paying job I have ever had, double of what I've made at other jobs in my life, but nowhere near what some of you all make, maybe 40k a year.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Which tower in Sydney you at bruv?
American bankers don’t make as much as they think they they do. They lie, the expat community even has a term for it 60/40 rule meaning 60 percent of what they say they make.
