Unfortunately the generation growing up in this fantasy world(people born after 2012) will usher in the death phase.

9/11 was when everything changed. That was an apocalyptic scale event.
Social media and cellphones proliferating meant easier propaganda distribution.
COVID and the resulting tyranny / depopulation will be a far more devastating apocalypse. Excess death is already starting to rise, we aren't even 10 years out from the vaccines. Sh!t is hitting the fan and spreading everywhere as we speak.

Yep it's mostly due to social media, wireless internet and smart phones. Obviously there are other factors but we weren't meant to be this connected through technology srs.

I guess the two are correlated….but my theory is not just that the changes happen so fast that we can’t keep up, but rather that there is a very specific change which puts everyone in a state similar to the one seen near the collapse of Universe 25.

I have a smart phone but feel like it's an overall good. i dont do social media which i think is the real problem.

I’d say it’s both. If smartphones weren’t a thing then social media wouldn’t be that bad/harmful. Not that long ago you had to sit at a desk to get online. Then when you were done you stood up and were instantly back in the real world. With the smartphone you are constantly connected to the internet(and/or social media) 24/7. And the consequences are disastrous.

Interesting theory. I first got a smartphone around 2009 or 2010 I think. Got it for store apps/coupons and maps/navigation. Played a few dumb games here and there.
I do believe that was a bigger turning point.
