I stayed there on saturday night so here are my thoughts
- it's not as big as I was expecting, I thought the buildings would be taller. Didn't feel overwhelmed the entire time.
- It's really not as expensive as I thought, a cup of coffee was about the same price as a cup in texas. A beer was usually about $7 or $8. I went to a rooftop bar in Brooklyn and got one nice cocktail for $17, drinks at a rooftop bar in texas wouldnt be much cheaper...
- food wasn't any more expensive than food in Texas. I had a good thai meal for $11 and a turkish pita sandwich for $10. I went there expecting to not be able to find a meal for less than $15
- Sloots dont wear a bra there... like every girl is attractive and they all seem to be looking for a boyfriend. Seems like the easiest place ever to meet a girl. I didn't see many Chads. Tons of girls standing around hoping guys talk to them.
- the city isn't as diverse as I was expecting, many parts of it were actually white washed.
- crime seemed to be nonexistent, only saw like 3 or 4 homeless people the entire time. Here in Texas everyone is saying NYC is turning into a ****hole. Im sure there are ****ty neighborhoods but this shows how ignorant some Texans are.
-9/11 memorial is a tourist trap and waste of real estate. It's just two huge empty holes in the ground, they should just build apartments there instead to help keep rent down...
-Central park is overrated and too big, I would rather have more smaller parks spread throughout the city instead of one giant park. The park is also almost entirely covered with lakes/trees and attractions, id rather have a more open field that you can do things like play frisbee on.
- Battery park is tourist trap, I was extremely bored there
- times square is ridiculously crowded at all times for no reason, not sure what the big deal is about it. Even at 2 am there were thousands of people just standing around doing **** all
- people aren't rude except some of the subway workers can be very blunt, most people seemed to be pretty friendly.
- Went to a couple bars in East village and had a good time since the area is not touristy

Don't believe the lies about NYC turning into a crime infested expensive ****hole. Overall I would say the city is underrated since now days I only ever hear bad things about it. I would say it's a good place to live if you want to start a new life and meet new people. But the city itself is nothing exceptional

the bronx is where all the bad chit happens. its technically a borough so idiots read stats and theyre like oh chit new york is dangerous.

last time i went to seattle was 2018. they had tent cities coming out the ass and homeless people everywhere.

I visited in 2017 and liked it so I moved here in 2019.

I'm really glad you enjoyed your trip and returned safely, and you did not leave with disappointment.

For me, I'm really embarrassed by my state, but mainly the city, though I will admit I am biased against major cities in general and view them as cesspools. It's declined so much due to lax crime policies and not placing the homeless in appropriate housing and filth littering the streets.

I live in upstate, NY, the more rural part of New York no one pays too much attention to.

I used to go for work a couple times a year for a week at a time. Which is about as much as I can handle. Unless I am staying in Tomes Square, which I can handle 2-3 days tops. I do enjoy visiting there though from time to time.


Not sure why you couldn’t find a place to throw a frisbee in central park, there are tons of open spaces.

Yea different parts of manhattan have a different feel as do the other boroughs.

I usually stay in the east village or around Washington square when I go. Midtown is alright but quieter at night (minus the 40s)

i dont really remember seeing that many hot girls. had a few good experiences but anytime a city has like 8 million people packed into a tiny space vs. maybe a few hundred thousand for an avg. size city, there are bound to be more opportunities

my summation is... expensive, pretty crowded.. but lots to do all the time. id say if youre in your mid 20's to mid 30's its pretty goat. but after that i'd be over nightlife and upstate ny would sound better
