Europe Descending Into Poverty

I was generally aware, but Tucker has more recent details and puts the pieces together into one story instead of bits here and there.

Cliffs:

- town in Germany burning wood for energy

- people waiting in line to buy coal

- 70% of UK restaurants planning to close

- the Green New Deal means poverty for regular people while for the elite it is business as usual
By any actual reality based measure Vladimir Putin is not losing the war in Ukraine. He is winning the war in Ukraine. Joe Biden looks at that and says "we won't stop until Russia offers and unconditional surrender.

This isn't bad policy. This is nuts. It doesn't make sense. In fact it only makes sense if the goal is to completely destroy the West to make way for Chinese global dominance. What would be the other explanation for this behavior? - Tucker Carslon

People chit on neocons and wars for oil, and I won't deny the cost in human lives was heavy (particularly in the countries affected)....but it did preserve our way of life. The fact is world peace and the resulting prosperity relies on cheap and free flowing energy. If the middle east would have banded together we would have been utterly fukt. Enter revolutions, sect rivalries, and backdoor deals.

I don't know what the fuk to make out of all this green chit except that we are at the end of an era. Every industry pro I've been in contact with has been utterly disgusted at recent environmental regs. Getting rid of nat gas is not a pipe dream.....it's an eventuality. Imagine relying on heat that is a fraction of the efficiency that NG brings to the table. Just ridiculous, seeing what comes down the pile should be interesting.

Speaking as Euro trash, the are overdo. Europe was generally unscathed since the end of WW2. With the military protection of the U.S., and the rest of the third world playing catch up, it is where they get their snooty attitudes. Now, with the last few decades of immigration, the formation of the E.U., and only relying on the rest of the worlds "admiration", they are going to hit the wall.

Only one way for Europe to keep the homes heated and lights on and that is war with Russia.

Seeing how Europe screwed themselves by putting their own people in this situation, how else but war can they reverse it? Srs question

The alternative is to allow a mentally ill tyrant Putin to bully the whole world and hold everyone on the leash because of his natural resources. If you or Tucker don't see a problem with it then there's something seriously wrong with you people.

Yeah, wood and coal. So what. That's what people used for centuries to keep themselves warm and everyone was just fine. A little uncomfortable but you're not going to die. Put a sweater on and stop whining.

I was very productive yesterday. Today? Eh, not so much.

Still this was worth a listen. Speaks about the relationship between energy and money/prosperity.

One point that really got my attention was a statement from the recent Federal Reserve minutes re:shale oil in the US. Said that US energy projections are depending on a steady shale oil production for the next 15 years IIRC when the truth is that our current shale oil production will only continue for about 5 years before dropping per industry experts.

No video so this one could be a good listen while driving if you are into that.

I don't think that war with Russia will improve their situation as Russia is in a position to easily destroy their own production capacity. What they need to do is tell Ukraine to knock it off already and accept Russian terms so that previous trade with Russia can resume.

But instead of telling Ukraine to accept Russian terms the US seems to be determined to demand that Russia just walks away from the conflict with nothing to show for it.

It goes far beyond that and you know if if you've paid attention at all. The disruption to farming and fertilizer production and export are leading to food shortages and famine.

If Europe doesn't want to be at Putin's mercy then they should develop other sources of power and cut out the Green Energy [die you poor bastards] Plan.

All made possible by FIAT currency

None of this clown world bullchit would be possible on a hold backed currency

Societies are built on the availability of cheap reliable energy AKA the kardashev scale

They are trying to sell the coming cataclysm as teething pains which is a joke
Wood to coal
Steam to oil
Horses to cars
ETC
We’re not only seamless they were faster, cheaper and more reliable

Oil, gas, nuclear to wind, solar, EV is the exact opposite

That trump claim about Germany being dependent on gas from Russia was so spot on.

Global warming isn’t the main threat to civilization, global cooling is. Humans and their geopolitical decisions too

It’s going to be an interesting next few months with Europe and this war.

Oh, and about the food shortage thing.

Cliffs:

- global fertilizer available for export cut 50% by $$$ value, more than 50% by volume

- multiple countries ceasing export of fertilizer

- fertilizer plants shut down due to high price of natural gas

- fertilizer plants converted from producing fertilizer to producing DES/Add Blue for diesel engines

Result: Lack of fertilizer for next years crops means we should expect *another year* of food shortages.

Or, IOW, if you are trying to stock up food to get ahead of shortages then you should be aiming to stock up for 2 years, not just 1 year, as a lack of fertilizer will mean low crop yields again for 2023 on top of the low yields for 2022.

I think add blue is a bigger story. Potentially deadly.

The fertilizer problem irritated farmers but progressed to pain late in the season. We'll see more winter wheat and then the real shortage hits next year.

Hey, you never know. <3

If I have to relocate at least I hope to not do it empty handed. I've been stocking up food stuffs and I'm working on building a second pantry.

I said before I opened up this space that the tradies probably left trash in there. I found some glass Coke bottles, an old steel Pepsi can and a chicken box.
