Why do women want men to "open up" and "be vulnerable"...

When in reality, it repulses them? Many such cases of a girl saying this to her man, the man decides to be a bit emotional, then the woman loses attraction.

I think there's also a difference between how you handle yourself when you open up.

Opening up still means you should be able to handle your chit and not fall apart. Yes you're sad, mad, stressed and you can vent but show you're able to handle things and have a plan for what to do next. Then my role would be to support/partner.
Compared to someone who opens up but breaks down and has a melt down... then my role becomes momma/in charge and most girls don't like that.
