same thing with waldichuk and hunter brown i just added. gonsolin going down opened up a spot so i just took a flyer on prospects. i think hunter brown is decent but don't really expect anything. and waldichuk plays in oakland so who knows but as of right now i dont really care about them; just a flyer

chit always works out for saalty. strider wasn't even on the rotation radar. bish started out in the bullpen with very little talk of him being a starter.

ive had multiple milb arms come up and they always get hurt or something

like fuken alex reyes and cavalli just came up and is out
Stop playing you had no shot at Harris. I picked him up within seconds of the news breaking about him being called up.

Also we going to pretend that I didn't draft Strider?

im not counting judge right now. its not until michael harris (a flyer) where you get to .300

and then seiya suzuki with a .263 avg.

lol those are saaltys starters lines

oh and then aaron judges 53 hr's with a month left to play. wonder what the outlier is. wonder where the consistency comes from

robert has been alright but often injured

oh and then jorge polancos .235

I could not give two ****s about average. I don't even think about it when constructing my team. Yet I have a higher average than you lol.

Actually I am better than you in every single hitting category. I lead the league In 4 out of 6. Second in OPS.

EDIT: You seem to o have forgotten Eloy hitting .303. Robert hitting .300. You are a cherry picking *******

Uh... he literally started his last two appearance of spring training and started almost every single game (21 of 22 appearances) in the minors in 2021. In fact he has done absolutely no relief appearances whatsoever in the Braves organization.

What in the f*ck are you even talking about? I'm not Saalty. You do realize I'm going to easily catch any nonsense you come up with about Braves players.

There was talk of him making the rotation right up through our draft. I drafted him as a starter because that's all he's ever done. Knowing if he didn't make the rotation he'd be valuable in the bullpen and eventually find his way back into the starting rotation.

Facts are facts brah.

What? We're not talking about how he started this year piggybacking (which isn't even necessarily to say they didn't view him as a starter by doing it this way). You said there was never any indication of him being a starter. 100% untrue. He was absolutely nothing but a starter in the minors. You're trying to base how they brought him on board in April to mean he would never be a starter? Where do you get that horses*t? The only time he was used in relief was because they didn't really have an idea of who would fill the rotation spot to start this year. And I'm using "in relief" very lightly as you'll see described below. They were still figuring out who they wanted in the final rotation spot at the time. They literally used him in a piggy back fashion with guys like Ynao, Elder, etc. Ynao and Elder weren't pitching more innings in those games. They basically just combined guys early on to look at everyone.

You know what I didn't want to go this far with it but it's clear you have no idea who Spencer Strider even is. Stop pretending you do. This is embarrassing as f*ck.

April 11th Ynao goes 3 innings; Strider goes 3.1 innings
April 17th Elder goes 4.1 innings; Strider goes 3.2 innings
April 30th Elder goes 4.1 innings; Strider goes 3.2 innings
May 6th Chavez 1 inning opener; Strider goes 4 innings

This isn't the look of a guy they plan to be in the bullpen. More like they didn't feel ready to hand the ball to anyone in particular for the 5th spot so instead used two starters to piggy back off one another each game.

Yes there's a couple relief appearances thrown into the mix when Fried started or Anderson started likely to keep him fresh due to off days and giving Tucker Davidson a crack to run with the role (which blew up on them). That's what you're basing it off of? Huge stretch.

Or do you also think Ynao and Elder are pegged as bullpen guys too? You're arguing semantics about who was the official starter in these games. Face it, you have no idea who Strider is and you never did.

I know you pride yourself on your baseball IQ and it's a huge source of your identity but if you honestly believed they intended to use him as a reliever you just missed badly with this one bro. Accept it. Even the best scouts make mistakes. There's very little to indicate they were thinking he'd be a reliever. Any evidence you have is a massive stretch. That's the reality.

I like how this group has a tendency to talk sh*t with their opinions but rarely posts actual evidence/explanations like I did above. It's not just Krazy, as a whole a lot of you in this league seem to think your opinion count for more than actually laying it out with a clear indication of what was happening.

Keep thinking you knew what they were doing with Strider if you want. We all know you're too god damn arrogant to admit it wasn't right no matter how much I shove in your face.

None of my "criteria" is "arbitrary" btw. I know that's your go to whenever you get f*cking wrecked by me. I literally am posting actual numbers and use cases with him from his real life game log. Nothing is made up, so go f*ck yourself.

im not sure if i tried to get strider in this league but i also play in espn

my bro drafted strider to start the year and i thought that was a good pick

i tried to trade for him multiple times once he got into the rotation. so i know he didn't start out in the rotation. thats when i was trying to strike

i know one of my offers was brandon drury who was having a good year and multi position eligible. im just saying his move to the rotation was an event and that's specifically when i offered

i haven't read your other posts tbh. just cause im not really looking to argue

im not saying i think they thought strider was a reliever. but its clear they were easing him into a role. they kept him as a multi inning guy but seemed more like a bulk reliever like colin mchugh as i said, as opposed to a true starter or reliever

also im looking at striders game log and it looks like june 4th was his first start. at colorado. he went 5 bb's

and again, that sticks out because i knew it was coors and thats a tough first start. so i was hoping someone would not look too into that and trade him knowing he'd improve and be harder to get. now his pitch count was up so he was gonna start. and his next start was pit for 5.2 and 8 k's

anyways, i think that was a great pick by saalty. im just saying its more than worked out. exceeded expectations so to speak.

it'd be like adrian morejon suddenly starting then performing like a cy young

Strider was drafted homie.

I knew Harris. Just wasn't sure what Id get out of him with that big of jump. I liked all the doubles he was hitting in double A. Figured it would take a couple years for that power to develop. Thought maybe best case was a Nick Markakis(Yuck).

No one could have predicted he'd have the season he has had. He was a top prospect but you know how it goes with prospects. That's why you add first and drop later if need be.

Nobody really knew what Harris or Strider would do.

In March I was pushing for Muller or Davidson for the 5th spot. Davidson was ass. Muller they never really gave a chance. I do think they could have settled with Elder. He pitched reasonably well for a 5th starter (4.70 era through April… no more than 3 runs allowed per outing). But after they gave Davidson his shot and he tanked they gave it to Strider and he ran with it. Good for him.

As for Harris I was mostly expecting defense and speed. Figured he’d get on base, work counts, and all the intangibles that don’t show up in a stat sheet. I didn’t think he’d play super well for fantasy but thought he’d be a great add to an outfield that desperately needed one. So I was hyped on Harris, but again not so much from a fantasy perspective. But… here we are.

Matt Olson is a ph aggot like we all knew he would be though. .250 and .800 OPS meanwhile Freddie out there hitting .322 and .900 OPS

Man, I don't even consider him a threat when he walks up to the plate. I'm waiting for the strikeout so we can move on to give D'Arnaud a chance to bring the guy standing on second in... lol

3-run bomb Olson.... we're gonna be tied in a few hours!

If a trip to Oakland is what's needed to kickstart Olson it can't come at a better time.

It's now a 26 game season. And deep down we all know the Braves are the better team. Let's do this!

What the f*ck Wright?

6-1 lead looks like you're cruising then melt down in the 3rd. Get a 9-5 lead strikeout the side in the 4th, now melting down again in the 5th. Hitting guys, throwing wild pitches in the 5th... I just don't understand what's happening. How can you look locked in painting corners one inning then walking guys, hitting guys, and throwing wild pitches the next?

WHAT THE F*CK?

Edit:

And we're tied. Why does baseball like to f*ck with me so bad? lol

So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

1st place!

It will probably be short lived with the Mets likely winning both games of their double header tomorrow and at worst climbing back up half a game, but we’re tied in the loss column regardless.

Feels good man

June 2nd, Mets had a 10.5 game lead.

It's gone.

OMG THE YANKEES ARE COLLAPSING. THIS IS HISTORICAL.
I walk amongst you.......but I am not one of you.

The Mets have choked their 3 game lead away for sure. But I don't know if we can say the Mets actually choked the 10.5 game lead. The Braves flat out tracked them down on that one.

This 3 game lead heading into September though and immediately losing 3 of 4 games against the Pirates and Nats is for sure a mini-choke. They totally gave away their advantage for the stretch run. They still have an easy schedule so we'll see what happens but the Braves are the better team in the end.
