Time and place.
Weren't a good deal of your monarchy inbred with all of the first cousin marriages?

yep. Luckily they have no real power or influence, and we get to enjoy the inevitable family drama. Best soap opera in the world.

Charles may well fuk this up though. The queen stayed absolutely politically neutral her whole life. Charles hasnt, and I doubt he will reinvent himself

I'm 100% sure Guardiola, Klopp, Arteta, and even Ten Haag couldn't be arsed about the Queen. They're probably thinking that they spent all week training with their preparations, and tactics just for games to get cancelled because of the Queen. Could've just done a moment of silence.

I don't know much about her, but all I can say is I haven't heard a single conspiracy/negative thing with her name, and she was Queen of one of the oldest/sophisticated countries in the world? I consider that that a job well-done. May she RIP.

She represents a different age. Public service, doing your duty, without a day off for 70 years. None of us would last 70 days meeting, greeting all over the world pretending to be interested in things that bore us to tears.

They were foreign jollies-all she had to do was wave, smash some bottles on a ship, cut some ribbons & that was it. She has always been on holiday in Balmoral & elsewhere & the rest of the time she is sitting in one of her many palaces with an endless staff of skivvies to do everything for her. All she has to do is meet people, nod & sign bits of paper.

You must be some special kind of stupid to admire someone who sees you as a mere mortal, especially one who has committed the crimes she has done.

Good news

Gives Graham Potter more time to get to know his new squad.

No doubt being a king or queen today is a pretty cushy position and although they don't have the power they don't have the risks. I mean, they don't complain much. However, you're born into a life, not really one you choose, and there are a lot of rules you must follow. Plus, when it's been your whole life, it doesn't really do anything because it's all you know.

Its hard for the US miscers to understand, as they don't have any notable history aside from joining wars late.

The Queen was living history for the United Kingdom, always in the back ground never taking sides but offering consul and wisdom.

Was in pub in central when it was announced, the pub played 'God Save the Queen', everyone stood up, hats off and raised a glass.

Will go up and lay flowers tomorrow.

I mean, it’s a view..

On the other hand her uncle was murdered by Irish republicans. Many years later she met their leader on a State visit in the spirit of reconciliation. Obviously everyone looked at that, and I’m sure thought well if she can forgive, forget..etc

Not sure I could have done that

Not sure if srs,

brb live in palaces all your life, brb servants to do every little thing for you, brb never worrying about money, brb hang out with elites of society, brb all your problems are handled for you

all you have to do is wave for the camera and shake some leaders hand from another part of the world
Sit in my car on Friday nights so my cat thinks I have a social life crew

Pretty sure Mountbatten was Phil's uncle & a cousin removed to her & hardly a surprise-seeing as the IRA fight was against British rule & his position in the British forces.
