On one hand, it was probably deserved.

On the other hand, to legally OK it would open the door to vigilante justice.

The defendent could argue he was confused, concussed and feared for his life.

Unfortunately the system if made up of people like him, if the sucker puncher shot an innocent person instead this guy wouldn't care, he'd probably want him to get a light sentence.

This is what I tell people, getting into a street fight is one of the highest risk things you can do. Sucker punching someone is just asking for your life to be over.

it's definitely extremely dangerous. sucker punch or not, a street fight is a recipe for disaster. one bad punch and you're eating through a tube. or some guy's friend jumps in and beats you senseless. or you get knifed. or you get shot. prettymuch never worth it to get in a street fight, even if you win you're prolly facing charges
