Why do most forums lean conservative, but yet conservatism popularity is downplayed

Outside of Reddit which has anti-conservative moderation, most forums, that allow diverse thought, lean/heavily lean conservative.

It seems that forums are a pretty good cross-section of America. If you go to car forums, gamer forums, lifting forums, they all lean conservative.

But yet, it seems like the popularity of conservatism is downplayed in the media?

people who are out and about, being social, sports clubs, night clubs are usually democrat.
