US Depression has decreased since Dec. 2020
Here are some interesting statistics here as I'm sure the lockdowns contributed to depression substantially:
https://www.statista.com/statistics/...%20two%20weeks.
Depression peaked in December 2020 at 30.2% and in June 2022 it was at 23.2%, although that is higher than Dec. 2021 where it was at 21.4%.
"From July 27 to August 8, 2022, around 22 percent of U.S. adults reported symptoms of depressive disorder in the past two weeks. This statistic shows the percentage of U.S. respondents over the age of 18 who reported symptoms of depressive disorder in the last seven days or two weeks, between April 23, 2020 and August 8, 2022."
I know in California where the lockdowns were heavy duty that seniors in my area reported feeling isolated and other non-seniors I know turned to drinking. I was surprised as I thought this statistic would be higher, but with the stigma of mental health perhaps some people may not have reported depressive disorder.

A hundred thousand or so die per year of opiod overdose alone, so that will definitely cut into those depression numbers.
A million miles away - I don't.. feel.... anything.

That’s depressing to know that 1/4 of people you meet are depressed. That is if it’s true depression and not some dude just sad cos he can’t get his Willy wet.

Not everyone reports so expect any official number to always be higher.
