i was speaking to a doctor yesterday and mentioned how the experts were wrong because the vaccine doesn't stop transmission/infection
they said it's because the vaccine wasn't designed for the delta variant

your points about RSV and Dengue are self-owns. yeah -- those vaccines caused ADE --which was overtly obvious and observed during the trials. this was literally an objectively spelled out endpoint in every single covid vaccine trial -- if there was evidence that the vaccine was causing VAED or ADE, the trial had to be stopped. somehow, unlike those RSV or Dengue trials where the vaccinated were having worse outcomes and higher severity than the placebo group, that didn't happen in the existing vaccine trials? got an explanation for that?
it's funny because out of all the (legitimate) concerns about the mRNA vaccines you're talking about the literally most-well-studied potential adverse outcome and the one with the strongest data showing it's not happening. which is why, you will be completely and totally unable to find any controlled observationalorexperimental trial which includes variables for age and other confounders and finds a higher rate of severity in people who got the vaccine. Mine worked out great. I developed delayed onset hypersensitive after my first dose, it sucked but wasn't a big deal. I felt crumby for a few hours after my second vax but other than that zero side affects.
I never caught Covid, so I didn't miss a beat when everyone around me was sick as ****. I even took care of my ExMIL while she had Covid, I put my vax to the test with her. I was coughed, spit, sweat, and pissed on during the process and still didn't catch covid.

how likely an elderly person is to die has nothing to do with their mortality rate from covid. i don't see your point here. death is death, doesn't matter if it's a 68 year old healthy bodybuilder or a guy with hiv, monkeypox, and cancer. his death is a death.

what about all the people dying mere days, weeks, or in some cases a month or two after getting vaccinated?

I didnt get vaxxed and covid permanently destroyed my ability to taste food.
my advice to anyone is get the vaxx, its not worth it. Id take it right in the ahz 5 times if it means avoiding this fate.

I've had 3 doses of Pfizer.
First two were the main shot (1st dose 2nd dose). 1st dose didn't bother me or matter. 2nd dose had me feeling SICK that night. Cold sweats, freezing, "needed" a HOT shower for 45+ minutes, some nausea but not too bad, high temperature, inability to sleep through all of this.
A year goes by, I don't get any of the boosters. Caught COVID, probably omnicron. Felt SICK, but nothing more than a medium flu. Didn't feel as bad as the above, but I had LOTS of phlegm to cough up every single morning, nose issues, fatigue, unexpected muscle aches too. I lost taste but only for 24-36 hours.
Decide to go on a cruise but there was a ruling at the time that I had to get a booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated, required for the cruise. Scheduled my booster. Got the Pfizer booster, and felt like the 2nd shot in the 2nd line/paragraph above... same exact issues, cold sweats, freezing, nausea, high temperature, etc.
Never going to get another COVID shot again, would rather just get COVID srs. I'll opt to NOT even go on a cruise or trip if a vaccine is required going forward.

Got the Pfizer booster, and felt like the 2nd shot in the 2nd line/paragraph above... same exact issues, cold sweats, freezing, nausea, high temperature, etc.
Never going to get another COVID shot again, would rather just get COVID srs. I'll opt to NOT even go on a cruise or trip if a vaccine is required going forward.

If you currently have covid, then you probably shouldn't be getting vaxxed for 3 months as they have seen you get some protection from that...at least, iirc from what I have read and from looking at the forms you sign. Not sure they would give you one, either...talk w your doctor.
Beyond that, it's probably to your benefit to get the bivalent one that just came out. Iirc, they are saying it may not decrease your chance of getting it again, but may lower your relative chances of serious illness, hospitalization, and death.
Also, if your symptoms in a future case were diminished then you would be contagious for a shorter time in theory.
I would recommend getting it because that is the public health advice from the pros. It seems like a no-brainer, like the flu shot. Getting it may not stop an infection, but if there's a chance it will make you less sick then that's a good opportunity for you.

how can people actually believe the body just stops protecting you from infection at 3 months. Why not 2.5 months? Why not 4 months? Why not 1 month or 6 months? no, it's going to be 3 months to coincide with the duration that a vaccine is effective
