Is it legal to be recorded in a classroom?

I remember waay back then in middle school I had this one science teacher.

He would have hidden cameras near the top of the classroom recording everyone. When we found out. We were asking if that is legal, and he said yes, but I never trusted him. Since he was a pretty angry guy no one really wanted to push it further.

So was that legal misc? Can I still report him since he is still a teacher.

Idk how the laws/school policy work in a classroom setting but in some states only one party needs to consent (the teacher)

OK, this was in California. I know that it is a 2 party consent. Not sure if when that law became a thing though.

Oh boy, well typically not, but for visual recordings. I would surmise no as well. I mean what's the worst that can happen if I just send the school an anonymous email reporting him and letting them know if his last actions.

Can't hurt can it?
