How do you guys react to other guys playing chicken with you on the sidewalk?

If the person is much older or much younger, I usually just move to the other side of the sidewalk, even if I was originally on the right (correct) side to begin with.

But today some black punk kid was walking on the wrong side and refused to move. I moved at the last second before we walked into each other. Grinds my gears like you wouldn't believe.

Still debating if it was worth getting into a physical confrontation over, especially considering I can't fight and I was unarmed at the time.

*edit* It's almost ALWAYS black males under 30 who are the ones acting like this. Obnoxious and inconsiderate. Most are cool. It's juts a minority of them that do stuff like this that ruins it for the civilized majority.

Most times I have my German Shepherd with me while walking, so I always win the chicken game on sidewalks. Only time I preemptively move is if it's someone 60+ years old out of respect.

I look dead ahead and drop my shoulder into position. 9 times out of 10 the battering ram position gets people to move. The 1 of 10 that don’t i laugh when they fall into the bushes.

If I sense they aren't going to move, and just want to play tough guy, I stop walking and stand there, maybe glance at my phone..they ALWAYS walk around. If it's an elderly person, a child, or a lady (not just a woman..but a lady) I move out of the way

I move for kids and the elderly, etc

I move slightly out of the way for other people and they need to cooperate by moving as well or we bump shoulders.

I move completely out of the way for people that look like they'd be ready to throw their life away over a random altercation (hobos, astrophysists, drunk college kids, etc)
