One of the principles of hermetic philosophy states that every thing has poles and those things are all one.

For example good and bad are one, they are just at different ends of the spectrum.


Hot and cold are also one, just at different ends of the spectrum, can anyone properly identify when hot becomes cold and when cold become hot?

Or when does good become bad
And bad become good?

We all draw the line somewhere different.

As for eternal torture, well, I’m not sure if you’re aware but there’s lot of interpretation of the Good Book that has resulted in many denominations and sects.

Personally, I don’t get that sense from it but there’s a whole lot of “Christians” who fully believe that to be a truth and are fully okay with it.

God works as a metaphor for the world itself. Looking after your world lets it survive and flourish. You can't disregard looking after yourself and world and expect the future to work well.

The metaphor does not only work statically. Rebellion does not need to trap the fallen angel forever, just living with some complicated grounds commonly not overcome

You do not need to believe any of it to read the metaphor and see your own decisions can lead to better or worse lives.

Metaphors describing dynamics of responsibilities like the fact laws are needed for predictable flaws and suffering comes more from poor decisions are another way to read this. A 'secular' God would simply include the fact the world looks better with some orientation and is not necessarily all good.

I'll admit there were parts of the Bible that was difficult to read. But my assumption is that God knew the hearts of the people and knew they would never repent which is why they were allowed to be destroyed. In the book of Jonah, God commands Jonah to preach to the unsaved people of Nineveh and Jonah initially refused but when Jonah finally came around and did what he was told the people of Ninevah were saved as a result. God probably sent Jonah because He knew the people of Nineveh would have a change of heart.

IMO all established religions are false. I have a strong relationship with God but I do not follow the words of any religions but my own. I don't discount that Jesus or Mohammed or Abraham may have actually spoken to God but just look at the telephone game or any government-- words passed down get changed due to human error, and any organization whether it's a government or corporation or religion becomes corrupted by the temptations of those within to gain power and exert their own will rather than the will of God.

Just fukking lmao if you don't come up with your own religion in 2022.
