She trades in all her money for gold, and always complains that she doesn't have enough money. Then goes back to the dealer to resell gold for money.
Works minimum wage and hasn't worked a job in her life. Has leached off her ex husband's social security. Tells me we are too dependent on technology, but literally doesn't do anything other than watch TV. Believes internet causes cancer and doesn't own a phone.

Tells me & wife that we need to quit our jobs since money is worthless. Tells me I need to abandon my apartment lease and get out of where I live (even though she also lives in California and refuses to leave)

Then has the audacity to tell me to illegally carry a gun around "just in case"

Says she hesitates to vote for Trump because "look how bad things have turned out."

Also believes that humans don't win elections and that God decides who wins elections.

Oh the average people? Feel for them, the doom is slung at us from every angle. It’s hard to climb out of the mud.

I pity doomers to an extent, but a significant number of them will weed themselves out of the gene pool so they represent a short term concern. Especially the bitter divorced folks crying no healthy long term relationships are possible unless you're exceptionally lucky.

In all honesty I prey on doomers, economically speaking. Especially those that overreach, or over extend. It becomes easy over time to ignore all the doom and gloom, and the only continual problem remains the folks who no longer believe in this country. Something must needs be done.

Back when I did mortgages, I had this one religious lady who would constantly tell me about "the Blood Moon is coming in a week, and this means the end of the world" or something. Once she told me this, I suggested that she should do an Adjustable Rate Mortgage, as the payment was much lower and the world was going to end anyways before her payment would change.

She did not take my suggestion. Basically what this means is Doomers don't actually believe this chit, they just like whatever emotional reactions it brings for themselves and those around them.

I think you should contact someone to have her admitted into a loony bin.

But in all seriousness, I think everyone should have some kind of plan and supplies just in case something bad happens. Not end of the world or civilization level, but if for some reason you lose running/clean water and electricity, you should have a way to filter water stay warm.

Yea doomers are just as bad as the people that think everything is perfectly fine. The thing with doomers is that they never have solutions. They just live in fear and clutch their pearls viewing life as an inevitable doom.

She could have done a lot of that but lived life fully with her back up plans. She could have some gold, food/water, a part time job, etc but still live a normal life. She got caught up in the fear porn part though and the doomer media preys on these people. There's never solutions.

She is real. She is a hippy if that makes anything better. Collected food stamps for almost a decade after she kicked her kids out and had almost no income.

I don't feel bad at all. She tried to convince my wife to drop out of college by telling her maybe that's why she's so tired all the time and other **** by attacking her insecurities. And tries to sell that I don't have an accounting job just because I have an accounting degree, and that anyone can do those types of jobs, which may have some truth (for bookkeeping which I do not do), but if she believes that crap, why can she only get minimum wage?

After all these years wife finally believes me when I say MIL is crazy.

She kicked out her only kids because she wanted them to "live in the real world". And now all her kids hate her (except my wife since she left before that crap happened). Now they all work min wage (either no college or really soft degrees). And she wonders, what happened to her family.

This is in SD county so not really the type of place you can just kick your kids out at 18 and expect them to live a fulfilling life.

I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but yea...she sounds like a pretty awful person. As sad as it sounds I think your wife might have to cut her out of her life until she changes, if ever.

Lol I remember she was leading us on by telling us that we could buy her house for below market price, but then she went back on it and reverse mortgaged her house. Now she says if we can pay the full price of the house + any interest on it after she drops dead, we can have it. I'm like fuk that ****.

Then even more ****. When I was barely an intern in college making like $16 per hour part time. She was like why am I still living with parents. I should already be taking out a mortgage in a house.

She says it's because "he can't buy one because no one will sell to him because he's misunderstood and no one gives him a chance."

We still hang out with her because wife still wants to be around her only family that's left but now MIL's brainwashing doesn't work anymore.

And she goes all hippy on me and says how bad drugs are and I should drink some of her homeopathy pills instead yet at the same time he BF is on chronic drugs since he is an unhealthy fuk, I don't see her forcing homeopathy on his ass. "He takes his drugs because I want him to get better" lol

I swear if it was me, she would throw out my pills and give me her death water.

I told my wife when we leave the state in a couple years that I am never coming back to California unless my family needs help with something.

She has agreed to these terms.

So while wife is getting her work experience, she has the ability to still see her mom for now.
