Two benefits I have noticed without placebo going carnivore [srs]

Before was doing low/medium fat + medium carb + high protein (90% whole foods with occasional junk, protein mostly meat no vegan bull****)

1. When I would wake up I would feel so stiff but that stiffness was very significant and uncomfortable. Not sure if it would count as arthritis, and it definitely was not debilitating, but something I was worried about being only 25. Gone in 3-5 days after starting carnivore.

2. When I would fap at 12-1PM WFH I would be lazy and get that post cum nihilism. Now, after a cum shot I just feel relieved but can still remain focused and continue with tasks.

Too early to tell for other benefits + I have read about those benefits so placebo risk but for the above the difference is so noticeable that it can't be.

no but that is because I have lost water weight which is not fat or muscle

but I do look more cut because of no water retention as you basically eat no carbs

Increase fat+salt and take electrolyte sachets like LMNT during the adaption phase. Also increase calories, it’s a lot easier to eat more fatty mince then it is to eat a tough steak. Stick to ribeyes if u eat steaks and u can buy fat trimmings very cheap and add them to your meal to increase the fat

I do active cardio in the AM (very early, between 5:30am, and 10:00am)

I used to bonk, or get hungry during my bike rides and needed to bring snacks with me (clif bars, small snacks)

Recently I've been doing "AM keto" which basically means: I only have black coffee, and some mixed nuts in the morning before my bike rides

I NEVER need to bring food anymore, and only bonk if I'm about 3 hours into my rides now

This has been pretty mind blowing because my overall performance has improved slightly (faster average speed, more power during sprints, etc) and I feel WAY better after I'm done riding... I don't feel like I'm starving to death, and I can just relax when I get home.

It took a very long time to adapt to this because I was always an oatmeal person pre-cardio, or sometimes yogurt/fruit... So to just have some mixed nuts was pretty awful at first.

Now that I see the performance benefit, I naturally keep going this way.

Today I only did a 25 mile ride, but I ate NOTHING before, and never really felt "bonked" during the ride today (about 1hr40min of cycling)

Last Sunday I ate nothing when I woke up, I rode 65 miles (4 hours of riding) and only needed to stop for a small snack after 3 hours.

After I do cardio, or sometimes during my cardio, I'll start eating carbs for the day, and it's no problem.

I do pretty much the same as you. I run around 40 mi / wk and run fasted if I get a chance to do a morning run. It always feels good. I just have coffee in my system so I can chit and my runs always go generally well.

Can't imagine doing a keto diet. I will always bonk if thats the case. If I have to run in the evening, I make sure to eat at like 3-4pm and not eat until my run at around sunset.

Pretty much just eat whole foods at around 3000-3500 cals / day.

I don't do FULL keto, just AM keto. So basically I don't do carbs until I'm done with my cardio (or nearly done with my ride). My theory is that the carb-fasted state is overall better for long-duration cardio in the morning.

If I wake up and have an apple/yogurt, I will be bonking within 2 hours easily.

So you're carb cycling pretty much.

Have you tried carbing up the night before? Then fasted cardio in AM?

That seems to give me the most endurance and I do agree eating carbs or anything for that matter before cardio lowers my endurance.

Before lifting however I get at least some protein in pre-workout then binge like a mofo after lifting

Yeah IDGAF about how many carbs I eat at the end of the day. lunch/dinner always has excess carbs.

It's my first "meal" where I intentionally avoid carbs.

This has been a couple months now of experimenting with it, and I'm pleased with the results.

Some rides that would previously have been a significant undertaking for me (like the 65 mile ride I did on Sunday riding single speed) feel casual now. Kind of insane.

EDIT: my hydration seems to be positively effected by this, as well.??? who tf knows.
