I got a new boat motor (I drive a boat more than a car), a new ATV and a new vehicle this year. The idea is, brand new chit doesn't break. 5 year warranty on all. The idea is that I could afford to pay it all off now, and I sold my old stuff for a mint cuz covid pricing for used stuff was insane...made sense to buy new and sell used because of the extreme prices people were paying for used stuff
Nothing major will break down on me likely for the next 10 years now, so the economy can go to hell and I'm not getting any unexpected bills. Now I can keep saving and enjoy life without any annoying financial setbacks.
I just paid off all my debt and mortgage recently, which was timely. I have access to all the free chicken I want, plus never buy meat already cuz hunting and fishing.
Nothing changed really, and my lifestyle is set up well to weather storms that would cause issue to a lot of people.
Brb leaving for a 7 day remote fishing trip Friday cuz I can.
Nothing major will break down on me likely for the next 10 years now, so the economy can go to hell and I'm not getting any unexpected bills. Now I can keep saving and enjoy life without any annoying financial setbacks.

Had a ruffed grouse (like a delicious bush chicken) running around in the yard stealing cherry tomatoes yesterday. Was gonna shoot him, but decided to wait cuz was already cooking some fish. Next time when I see him and have nothing planned for dinner lol
Not buying meat is a big plus. I saw meat prices the other day. Fuk that chit.

I shop around and price comparison more now. It is crazy at how much and how quickly prices for many items have increased.

That feel when you have gotten several raises in the past 2 years that add up to a 22% increase in pay, yet you are exactlly where you were in 2019 AT BEST.
That feel when you didnt buy a house in 2019 because "the market was increasing a little too fast for my liking"
That feel when you didnt buy a house in 2020 because "see I told you, over priced"
That feel when its 2022 and the price is up another 10% from when I last looked and interest rates have doubled.
That feel when you lost 10k+ from savings in a year due to inflation
That feel when you put your money in the market because otherwise it evaporates in a bank account, yet you get the feeling a crash is coming and all the "deals" at 3700-3900 will be 500+ points above the new normal S and P for a few years. Then if the housing market tanks a year or two post mstock crash like in 2008 I'll have negative growth on my money for a down payment. Lose lose in the short term.
That feel when you are rooting for a multi sector crash and several year depression in your own country just so you can aquiring assests at reasonable prices.

I’m making a 32% higher wage, but basically living the same quality of life I was in early 2020. It fuking sucks because 2020 and the first half of 2021 were VERY good years for me, then the chit hit the fan and my world started crumbling.

- Renewed lease for a year in April with my landlord and he put a clause that I wont have a rent increase for the whole duration. He has multiple properties so I guess he is not thin on cash but he loves me as a tenant (clean and reliable) so he said he wants to keep me.
- I do carnivore + IF and trying to quit caffeine -> I eat mostly beef, chicken and pork and have not noticed any increase on those mostly because they are so mass consumed and essential.
- I invest only a cup of decaff coffee on dates with sloots which is just 3 GBP in London, nothing more unless I have multiple sessions of sex.
- Apart from travelling and visiting good restaurants, I do not like any hobbies/entertainment that normies do locally here in London. Like going to clubs and pubs and spending ridiculous money on alcohol no thnx jeff.

I've basically checked out of society last year, I make 6 figures but keep my expenses low. I'm 100% honest when I say I'm waiting for the less fortunate people to revolt because this is unsustainable for them. I know alot of people are currently having to buy food with credit so its only a matter of time.

Have noticed but thankfully I make enough to not really feel it. Don't drive much at all and only fill up the tank once every 2 weeks or so. Food, I never looked at my grocery price and still don't. That's probably up a little bit, I'm sure. Still saving money and living how I have been. I can imagine it's starting to fuk over a lot of people

A sort of mentor of mine taught me to knock a deer down into steak, roast, stew and ground when I was about 15. All big game is similar, and small game is a cakewalk. Bought a super high quality meat grinder years ago (second hand, never used) and never looked back.
I don't do things "perfect", as in how a butcher might, but I take the time to trim well, and my meat always tastes less gamey than from a butcher.
If I needed to, I could debone and mostly butcher a moose with a single fillet knife. Cutting steaks would be hard, but doable.

Basically live as low luxury as I can. Minimal AC aside in bedroom at night, dont like heat in the winter, eating plain chicken breast bought in bulk, protein powder, and other cheap options like pasta and PB. Never eat out or buy anything out. My dog eats my meat scraps and fat. Still mooch off the parents If I go home for a weekend to visit I eat all their food becuse they are rich.
Buy everything used I need off of FB marketplace for home improvement or even supplies. A lot of stolen household items can be bought in bulk for dirt cheap.
Sucks we have to come to this but it beats being a poorcel

Most of our kills here are actually roos which don’t have many cuts of meat on them it’s pretty uncommon to see deer out in the areas we shoot
I have decent skills with a knife maybe I’ll start with fish and go from there

Also, theres still mom & pop restaurants that arent gouging. Chinese, greek, and mexican restaurants still have tons of value.

That is seriously one skill set I would love to cultivate before I die
Most of our kills here are actually roos which don’t have many cuts of meat on them it’s pretty uncommon to see deer out in the areas we shoot

A quick video I did on filleting northern pike with no bones. They taste great, but have crazy bones, so people avoid them. But delicious deep fried if done right!

Another thing Ive been doing is selling my old high-end bike parts because you can basically recoup the entire retail price that you paid years ago LOL. I typically would just keep my parts as spares in the past, but jesus you can sell it off for so much money now.

Involves finding your own land, which is tricky given inflated prices and zoning restrictions, and either putting a manufactured home on it of some kind [mobile, modular, RV/tiny home] or being your own contractor/builder and hustling for materials and labor.
It looks to me like some landowners who purchased rural properties as an investment are trying to sell now to take profits. Doesn't mean that the land will be well priced or suited to what you need, and it is probably not fit for commuting to a city job.
The installation of utilities is a big expense and a big hassle, so clapped out garbage houses/trailers on acreage could be worth the extra money vs. raw land, though it is a PITA to deal with a wrecked dwelling.
I've just recently returned to the idea of using a quonset shell. Not sure exactly re:site preparation and foundation. Definitely would want good insulation. Considering the possibility of doing thick walls w/earthbags for the open ends, but would also want a good amount of glazing as there aren't windows/doors on the sides. Something more wide than long and incorporating covered porch space on at least one side.
Property tax and insurance here is beating me up and it's in a sense "money for nothing".

I’ve always been frugal so it’s not hitting me super hard yet. Car insurance and rent went up a little so that def doesn’t help. Just price comparing all necessities now instead of just here and there. Thankfully I don’t have to drive much so gas isn’t killing me.
