If were talking about a regular android yes. With a graphene OS pixel no.

You can, with care and planning, have modern tech and be free of spying. They just make it VERY difficult for the the average joe who doesnt even care. Or if they care a little but dont know anything in the first place, will be like trying to climb a mountain without ever having done it before. Even for a power user like me, to do it right, its a lot of work. One slip up and its all for nothing.

Physical ID like face, prints, dna, etc is old school and no one cares unless you plan to commit a crime. They know what you like, dislike, fear, desire, everything.

NSA doesn't have chit on these companies. Even they're using this data in their mass surveillance systems because its that powerful.

Why your personal bio-data is and always has been important for privacy.....


- If someone in a position of authority wants you taken out, you can be framed. Political opposition, rival lover, jealous co-worker,.... or i dunno, some new President calling your beliefs "traitorous".... anything.

- Mistaken identity and accused for crime you didn't commit, using their partial fingerprints and comparing it to your fingerprints on record. Has happened all the time in the past and continues to this day.

- If the government ever goes nuts with crazy laws or other oppressive mandates.. I don't know, like maybe... off the top of my head here... demanding you shut yourself in your house and do not come out because of some virus with a 99% survival rate.... you can't disobey or rebel because if you leave your prints ANYWHERE, you're f'd.

Its not about not caring or not thinking your arent important enough that they know you watch anime. Its about not having the freedom to not be spied on 24/7. Its that they are collecting data on EVERYONE 24/7. Every little thing you do. Now they are forcing all electric cars because they want to know where you are going even if you dont take your phone with you. Because you wont have a choice to not be spied on.

Despite what you may think. The Govt is not all that powerful or all knowing. They just like you thinking that. They still cant break AES 256bit encryption. They have powerful tools, but those tools really only work on the masses who arent savvy enough to know to harden themselves against the spying. They want you to think its fruitless to resist so you dont.
