Will do more research, but in the meantime is buying these in retirement accounts considered a waste? Considering these for my Roth, which is funded with after tax money.

Filed my taxes, had a promised return of $550 or so, plugged in my 1099-INT, stated I made $60 in interest in my savings account, new refund = $490.
I think I'll pass on this, unless I'm missing something else about i-bonds

That's like a free tank of gas a month for investing 10k.
I think it would only be a great deal if you could invest up to 100k/year

Maybe the better way to think of it is now that the year is almost over that it is closer to $20K since you can buy again in January.
