Why specifically that year? Honestly I'd say any year between 1990-2010, but to narrow it down I'd say 2005-2010 on loop.

100% internet. It just stopped critical thinking since the internet does it all for you. There's so many more reasons but yeah, the internet just killed off the inquisitive/mystery side of things. That alone sucks quite a bit.

Take away the internet and honestly what do people do?

Exactly, nobody does fun activities, everything involves some form of screen. Yeah, phones have ruined everything, I wouldn't go to any concert despite loving that scene. Music isn't good/random/crazy, nobody dresses up to play the part and the quality of people suck since they're glued to phones. Look at post #69, that post explains it all really.

I
Lol, did he rustle ur feathers. Sounds like you listed things from a brochure as opposed to actual activities. You know, ur around my Mums age and if she was at clubs/concerts I probably wouldn't talk to her.

Do you really do all those things? How long are you on screens of any kind per day?
Yeah I really do all of those activities. Nah Jestbrah is a great poster and doesn't rustle me. I just am not planning for death right now. Maybe when I'm 80-90 but not 50 I'm going stand-up paddle boarding on Sunday and last Sunday I went apple picking with my adventure club an hour away at an orchard. I saw the Roger Waters concert Sat night and went wine tasting before that over an hour away. I'm exhausted from all of that plus caring for my Mom and Aunt so I just slept from 7pm to 1am. My daughter sees all of my activities on my Instagram stories and she's not mad at me for going to concerts and living a great life. She and I get along great now that she's past the rough teen years.

I am still am on screens too much as I work in tech and I am on some forums and I have a lot of friends I text. I don't go on social media beyond posting my stuff and look at maybe 2-3 other posts from close friends. I usually get the message I'm on screens 4-5 hours a day but that doesn't count that I'm on a computer 8 hours a day for work. But I guess most people are on screens 8 hours a day (not counting work)?

Bring back this type of music. The 90s had the GOAT music with grunge and post-grunge alternative.

Everyone's a braindead zombie that's addicted to their phones and has lost all forms of critical thinking. They're just emotional little muted cucks with ruined reward systems from being on social media and pronz all day.

Pre 2012 was GOAT. Chicks were bubbly and feminine, dudes engaging in locker room talk and manly hobbies and society in general just felt innocent, authentic and in the moment. Much happier and connected. There was a rhythm and you could feel it.

Now everything is low test, passive aggressive, no personality and bitter. No social skills, no individuality, no nothing. Some people do recognize it but they're far too addicted to their phones, social media, netflix, whatever. Just low IQ chit. They're literally experiencing the same symptoms as drug addicts.

Plus now everyone looks like absolute chit. Don't even look human anymore. Just look like obese linebackers and jubba the hut from star wars. Odd shaped bodies and very unflattering plus they dress like the next person. Just retarded clones of each other.

I think some people are afraid to interact because everyone is always filming. Like dudes can act like men and then some soyboy or feminist will film them and report them or something. Idk but this clown shiit sucks.
Yeah exactly, good write up.

The internet anyway did this but phones just made people 10x dumber. Picture life where you could walk down the street/walk be anywhere and see 0 phones. Just imagine how much more conversations there would be, people would be so much more engaged in the real world. That was just entry level for the 90s. There was those temporary market stalls in town a few weeks ago, basically everyone manning their stall was just leaning slumped on their phone and when I asked about their product they just mindlessly point/grunt. 10 years ago they'd be speaking foreign and visually look all spritzed up to get our attention. There's just no energy in people.

There was a perfect equilibrium then. The point u made about xrated stuff. Exactly, anyone can access it for hours a day. Atleast before an adult male had to have enough confidence to walk into a store and ask, then pay with hard earned cash. Now clowns just type stuff online for free.

Being athletic looking has really changed in the recent years. Before it was because guys had that interest and wanted to look insane. Just to look that part so you can attract higher level women. Now guys just go in the gym all mopey dressing like camp wimps commanding 0 respect.

Exactly, not a single person out there puts actual effort into their appearance. Like really, guys growing beards with designer clothes is the dumbest thing ever. It doesn't look neat/mature/humble, just makes u look like a boring old tool. Just hiding their terrible jaw musculature and what guy wears designer clothing lol, that's for women. Women 10-20 years ago looked amazing, they would spend hours doing their thing and they did a good job, just insane amounts of variety to choose from. Women now just look so boring/low effort, salons should be out of business, they all ask for the same haircut and they all look exactly the same with this new surgery look. Just freaky to think that they think their newly made roadkill faces look good?? People need brain surgery.

People honestly look absolutely terrible. No style/image. Plus nobody has serious hobbies. When you compare it to 10-20 years ago, the people were infinitely better, designs and persona wise. How on earth has stuff regressed. Makes 0 sense.

Why does the smaller things like this happen. Like, it seems like so many things have happened all at the same time. Nobody even notices.

Zyzz died and a whole culture with him (semi srs)

Srs though around 2008 was the bomb - EDM/ House culture was at its peak, especially in Europe. Before that the nu-metal/ crank rap scene was fun as well. Things now are quite stuck up, Soys and bluehairs hate anything that has to do with fun since they are not able to get it so they have to ruin it for everybody.

I feel sorry for current day teens and younglings that have to be conservative at parties while listening to mumble crap and acting like twerking is normal. Only good thing about the the last ten years is the big booty trend.

Yeah exactly late 2011 was about the last time things were epic. First half of 2012 was decent too but with the emergence of 4g, smart phones and social media. But that's the thing man back then barely anyone was on their phones or social media and people were busy doing things irl. I don't even know where the soy males came from. That soylent drink came out in 2013-2014 and all of a sudden a bunch of them appeared out of nowhere.

Nobody i know my age has high t srs. Not sure what happened.

This is the average physique in 2022

Hmmm, I don't actually agree with this one. The pictured guy doesn't look too bad. He might be a cool guy to talk to. (Judging purely based on how he looks). Reminds me of those guys from pawn stars/storage wars, or some kind of American show lol.

But yeah, physique wise it's pretty terrible. The pictured guy in the linked thread is the low test/common male design which is the main issue. This guy is horrendous, no jaw, plain haircut, 30% bf showing ankles in some bender wedding shoes etc.https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=178125241

Just incase that thread gets deleted.

The thing is, that was over 2 years ago. The average guy now makes these 2 clowns look masculine. This is a joke, absolutely horrendous disaster. People respect/welcome this. If someone shoved him, he'd just roll and bounce. He'd partially get up and log his last recorded GPS location in the cloud scared for his life.

Nobody was like this, I don't get it. Guys before would launch this kind of guy out a window as a hobby.

Lol, made 0 sense. How can narcissism happen, nobody even looks good enough to be self absorbed. Rephrase.

Narcissism was a good thing once upon a time, made sense for hot people to be cocky about it. (Guy equivalent was to tense at any reflective surface) Now you just have ugly copy and paste blocky eyebrowed tramps doing it all awkwardly. As if they looked up how to be narcissistic from some bender in a tedtalk podcast.

Man, I hate everyone. Nobody is epic as 2nd nature. 2010 had it all.

Yeah cos u were young back then, now ur like 200 years old, lol :L

Why was it better back then? Have u noticed the things mentioned in the top post? Have u noticed that men aren't cocky anymore and are generally low energy. Women are at an all time low in terms of looks/personality. More of a fact really.

Yeah exactly it used to just the jocks and hot girls that were kind of stuck up now its like everyone. How did this happen? There wasn't this level of narcissism/entitlement 10 years ago.

Swag - style and confidence. Yeah nobody has it anymore.
Exactly, it's like they've looked online on how to act/talk in a conversation. The jokes people tell are lousy, then people laugh as if that was the best joke ever to break the silence, nobody actually comes up with unexpectedly funny one liners or anything memorable.

I haven't seen 1 guy that actually looked male and wasn't some 45 year old bricklayer in a bar. You never see guys in regular joggers/sweatpants or blue straight leg jeans or a cap that has a sick design on it. It just has to be something ridiculous that doesn't match. Guys at the gym dress like rappers. Also, it's either dressing like feminine wimps showing ankles or having super high up socks like geeks/nerds. I mean really, does nobody understand basic dress code anymore lol??

When I wait in line I just look around and read posters. Everyone is looking at their phones so there's no chance of conversation. Even if there was someone they'd just ruin the conversation by looking absolutely terrible followed by 0 conversation skills.

Pre 2010 had none of this. Every single person out there was a breathe of fresh air. I don't get why stuff ended up like this. It makes 0 sense to regress at such a late stage.

I guess it's time for strong men to make a come back.
It'll never happen. Tough guys were just tough, they didn't need to learn/emulate the behaviour. Guys now need a source to copy from. There will never be powerful males anymore.

It's like whether you have an outgoing persona or not. You may learn to be the other, but deep down whatever you started with is who you are. It just so happens that guys now are fragile/weak as 2nd nature. Nobody even cares about being powerful/commanding respect, life is far too easy. Pre 2010 had such a variety of personas that even if people were copycats, there was just too much out there to begin with hence why the variety remained.

Get rid of all of the modern technology/man made creations and humankind will die immediately. No way is anyone combating the ferocious animals/weather conditions without immediately giving up. Do u think a silverback gorilla would have any mercy on a clown who claims mental instability/needs his feelings attended to? No, he would rip your 40% bf scam of a life in half. No idea why I used such an extreme example, a bunny rabbit would frighten todays males. People are weaklings now, just look outside.

I still see people socializing but like you said it's usually nothing interesting and nobody can tell a joke anymore. People don't talk outside of their small social circles anymore. So you might have like 2-3 people talking now compared to everyone talking to each other in 2010. Big difference. The only place i see comedy now is on podcasts. Which is kind of ironic because the social media is chit is part of the big problem. Everywhere you go now people have their head down looking at their phones every 2 minutes or listening to podcasts on their air pods.

Also the energy in post 2012 conversations just isn't the same. People can barely construct a proper sentence these days talking all quietly when people used to be a lot louder and energetic. It's like people nowadays are just going through the motions not really caring about these conversations. Just saying the same things or something they saw on social media. Nobody in 2012 would want to discuss anything they saw on social media. It just didn't happen. But that's not even the worst part. Dudes nowadays will literally talk about funko pops, anime, tik toks all day. Unbelievable.

I swear most people just aren't present irl anymore and are just waiting to get back on their social media echo chambers. Can't put the phone down for more than 10 minutes.

Nobody was online doing this stuff in 2011 man. Literally nobody. Now your average dude spends at least 5 hours on social media per day. Another 8 hours looking at their phone or screens making a youtube video or watching tv/playing the latest video game. I don't get how we went from people going out and doing things all day and talking about cool things to just looking at screens all day. Nobody should want to do this for hours on end. We used to just get on our computers at home but if we went outside of the house there's no way anyone would be online. Not even for a second.

I think this happens because people are either on stuff to make them social or they legit just don't get much social interaction anymore because of social media. So they spaz out all the time. I mean i'm pretty introverted so going extended periods of time without socializing doesn't effect me much and i can still remain calm and collected, but for extroverted people i'm sure they don't know how to act when they can't constantly socialize thanks to everyone being on their phones in public now.

Yeah i noticed the macho man body language. You can tell right away he moves with a purpose and gets stuff done. Nowadays you just don't see this people are more uncoordinated and hunched over just walking aimlessly. Again, probably due to everyone just looking at screens all day. They forgot how to move.

Idk i just remember people being more upbeat back then. People walking around with attitude and a purpose even if it was the most boring thing. They didn't move all slow and aimlessly like now.
Yeah, it is a bizarre phenomenon that wasn't a thing 10+ years ago. Peoples mannerisms are too scripted. The internet thankfully still has all the old footage/pictures so we can look at how really amazing regular people were back then. Even older articles from 2005 show how different things were. The way it's written was just amazing and would never happen now. Humour that nobody finds funny anymore since it would upset them just a bit too much. E.g, comparing skinny celebrities to a flip phone or just a guy speaking unique ideas and getting funny feedback on the article etc. Smaller things like that is pretty sad since it's all gone. Before all the internet communities were pretty spread out. Forums are basically inactive and now it's just the a few sites which is the social media bullcrap and reddit. Novelty of the internet is gone.

Exactly, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Also notice that I didn't post an insanely obvious cocky guy puffing his chest out calling inanimate objects retards (also common back then), the guy in the videos movements being macho as you said were pretty discreet and was the norm for guys back then. Guys now just walk like pansies, too scared to make eye contact and are just painfully awkward. Kind of just standing like sardines not even bothering to talk unless they're in someone's damn way. It was pretty normal for people to talk just to kill the time between. Not even to kill time, people were just social as 2nd nature. Now a guy is praised for having enough confidence to "speak out" and hold some bullcrap awkward useless conversation?? LOL. Somehow most people would rather grunt and scroll on their handy little phones as a hobby.

This was how guys were, goofy and funny whilst looking kitted out/awesome. Moving like guys and not weird little wimps. This attitude was 2nd nature. Guys now don't have a clue on how to look/be sick like this, they'd rather look like nerds showing ankles in plain designer wimp clothes, the kind of guy that the guy in the video would launch on his head for the sake of it.

You just don't see this kind of person anymore talking about cool things, just an energy that got everyone talking. Nobody even tries at all anymore.

Everyone being in this self inflicted isolation, I mean, it can't be good for their minds. Something more than brain damage. It is literally people of all ages too. Very shocking to be honest, disappointing really. How are people's minds wired to think this is normal?

Nirvana came on the radio today and I felt so sad about how I miss the 90s.

It’s not really surprising how things are now - everyone became addicted to their phones. Every app is designed to keep you on it as long as possible, so you have a bunch of zombies endlessly scrolling to find their next dopamine hit.

Social media ended up being a societal cancer and really doesn’t do anything for people other than help make them depressed. And to top it off all it takes is a 10 second clip of you saying something that isn’t PC going semi viral on Twitter to ruin your life/career/etc.

Our brains can’t compete with apps designed to make you waste as much time as possible viewing them and now you’ve got toddlers addicted to phones/tablets. So those generations are just fukked from the start. I spend too much time on my phone but the majority of it is learning **** on YouTube or reading about whatever hobby I’m into at the moment. I mountain bike, garden, woodwork, into cars, etc so most of my phone usage is around learning more about those hobbies. I don’t use my laptop once I’m off work, so I web surf solely on my phone.

But yeah, why would people want to go out and do something themselves when they can just veg the fukk out on the couch or in bed with an endless amount of useless content to scroll. Any laziness you have gets exemplified a ton with a phone and most people are pretty fukkin lazy as is.

Good find, it is crazy that even in 2014 stuff was beyond repair. A guy in 2005 probably couldn't fathom being that addicted to screens, let alone the unimaginable boost around the 2022 era. If you told a person in 2005 those statistics of 2014/2022, they would think that would be the idea of torture since they were more used to being outdoors, they'd assume it was a clowned joke for a reaction. Not even realising that those statistics are of regular peoples day to day lives only a few years down the line.

People are crazy, I hate how things are like this. Nobody cares about the epic things out there in the world, they'd rather just scroll as a hobby.

So what is that culture, someone mentioned it before but I don't know what to look up.

Yeah very true, ads/commercials had the hottest people I'd ever seen pre 2011, even the Christmas/Valentines Days ads which were usually a but tipsy/girly were still awesome before. So many creative minds making those masterpieces. I loved commercials before, they were better than current movies with their plots/twists haha. Now it's just overly camp and weird, 0 critical thinking and 100% of the time it has nothing to do with what they're supposed to be advertising. Nobody even cared about race/gayness in ads pre 2011, after 2018 it became a the sole purpose of the ads, even if it's about toothpaste/cars or even birthday cakes LOL. Why is it in every ad these days? No idea what's going on, makes 0 sense. Pre 2011 did such a good job of this, now it's just retarded.

Everything is ruined. Nobody even cares. Why can't there just be a loop of 1990-2010, the people who designed that perfect era were adults too. Now the adults are just bonehead retards.

I actually made a thread about this kind of thing before. See here.
