Went to first BJJ class last night...was fuking blast

The instructor went over:

1. elbow escape from mount
2. some other mount move (while hold the arm and bridging focring opponent to roll over and underneath you)
3. then getting your hands underneath someone while they have side control and then [shrimping?] out

just ordered my gi for next week

did you get to live roll with any of the upper belts?

They don't let newbs roll with anyone until they have been to at least 3 classes.

I did have a blue belt and black belt go over moves with me directly though

Just flow with the go
Leave your ego at the door
Don’t spaz
Tap and tap often
Take your time; bjj is a marathon, so take your time and perfect your technique.
It’s only the they if you look at each other in the eyes
Close your mouth when doing north/south

With the help of misc, I have been told this alot going in. They also told me about spazzing as well and warned me not to be like that.

not spazzing is the number one thing any n00b can do.

Man this took me a while to regulate. Once I started to understand it, the training got much more enjoyable (for all im sure)

I also believe where you train at makes a big difference. I still get anxiety walking into comp classes......its killers row in there and even their 65% is tough.
