After reading the summary and some reviews it seems that the author has some wisdom and emotional maturity about life and partnership etc. So definitely not a miscer lmao.

A miscer would write your avg bitter incel autistic manifesto. This guy seems to have written a Guide on how to literally cope with loneliness. Which is a good thing in this day an age, lots of lonely and lost people could benefit from said reading.

I didnt say every single man thousands of years ago had a partner,

What I said is that those men didnt sit around and cooperate. Like you said they at least went to go fight and conquer to try to get something of their own and a lot of them died. Thats not how it works anymore, you have all these left over guys just sitting around and its dangerous

You missed my point. They didn't go fight and conquer because they wanted something for themselves. The went to fight and conquer because their ruler SENT them to do so for him, to get spoils, land and slaves for their king not for themselves. Same with labour or just being a slave, people had no choice back then their fate was settled the moment they were born.

there is a population of men that technically should give up on women. Happiness from other sources is much more realistic for that population than attracting a woman and having kids. Unfortunately that population is getting bigger and bigger.

Dont smoke as I just dont like it but I drink a ton. Like too much buts what I like, helps me feel better and will kill me sooner. so win win.

It's more that the protagonists in these books & the authors themselves (Miller definitely, not sure about Donleavy) were notorious & successful seducers of women. They go out on drinking sprees by themselves and pick up random women using their charm, and don't care what people think of them. At the same time this isn't the focus of the books at all.

Don't really want to promote alcohol abuse etc etc but was recommending these books in this context, in that they may help / inspire the reader to develop a more 'devil may care' approach

Why would they go there and risk their lives for nothing?

BECAUSE THEY HAD NO CHOICE.

They had to fulfill their obligations to the ruler otherwise they would get heavily punished. That's how history worked. You lived and died for your lord, period. Even the loot was going first to the lord and then and only after he had his pick he would distribute it to his troops as he saw fit. Keeping loot for oneself was punishable by death in most late anqiuity and medieval times.

Lol, I dabbled in the white devil for years without becoming an addict, though it was close at times.

I wouldn't recommend it for you at all though, the emotional hangover that usually follows might actually make you rope given your current mental state.
