Anyone here use a car phone holder for navigation? Srs

Never used it before but I drive to new places often and its kinda dangerous and uncomfy having to hold the phone all the time or look down to check the google maps.

Got a holder but didnt know where to place it. Tried upper left side of the steering wheel but it if it falls my phone might fall outside with it. Also product I got seems kinda chit its sticker doesnt seem strong enough

Tips?

I have a vent mounting phone holder

But it's just to hold my phone and then use android auto thru my infotainment system

Just lol if you aren't using waze. By far the best navigation app. It's like peer shared almost, people can mark police, debris, traffic, cars pulled over, etc on route.

You gotta get one that fits the vent shape in your car, but even then, 9 times out of 10 it will fall off the attachment if you hit a bump or even take a turn too sharp. I've been looking for a decent phone holder for well over 5 years. My problem is, all the phones i've ever had are too heavy (Galaxy Notes and now the S21) so its the weight that makes them fall off.

Yeah thats another issue. Fkn Google Maps drives me crazy sometimes constantly rerouting making drive through shady ghettos or toll roads when I prepared myself a great route

Your app has that issue too?

Yeah this. Have an A53 its kinda too big for the holder I got. It fits in it but I dont think the sticker is strong enough to hold it. Also for the magnetic holders some say that it might interfere with phones electronics that true?

Waze sucks, unless it's gotten better. Haven't used it in 3 or 4 years.

Brb take this exit, drive on the service road, then get on this side street for 0.2 miles, then back onto the service road and back onto the highway to save 45 seconds

Google Maps wouldve been fine if not for the rerouting phaaggotry. Only way to avoid it is to turn off the internet

You are correct, Although it varies depeding on your phone and your service provider. Thats why i've been looking for the clamp holders.

I think they dont need your navigation apps to track you down. My work is near some pond where some people go to swim which is prohibited whenever Im at work they assume Im sitting by the pond about to swim so I receive a message from the city "its dangerous to swim in those areas dont risk your life"

I have the gps off all the time driving there they mustve got me through something else


Edit= I thought you were talking about google maps. Why would I care if they track me down through my cars nav system I dont move illegal immigrants in my trunk

get a cd tray magsafe holder if you have an iphone w/ magsafe
