Man I knew the Braves were gonna come out flat as sh*t tonight with a hangover from that series. It was almost a guaranteed loss. I agree that's some bullsh*t but it was easy to see coming. I just hope it's a one time thing and they get it together tomorrow before these retards make things more interesting than it needs to be.

Also I don't know if they'll do it but I'm a little scared the Marlins will reverse course and pitch Alcantara on Wednesday if the Braves haven't clinched things up by then.

It's not like they can't reverse course if they want to. Not sure if they will, but man I don't even want to be in that position where there's a reason to do it.

The improbable is over

2022 NL East Champion Atlanta Braves!

We were dead in the water in 2021 and took it all. We were dead in the water in 2022, and here we are again. Finishing on fire is becoming a habit. Let's get ready to repeat!

37-14 since August 9th. Just let that sink in as you ph aggots are preparing to watch your sh*t tier teams in October. Yet again the best team in baseball over the last 2 months of the season it's over for the rest of you.

Time to be the first repeat champion since the 90s.

Edit:

78-33 since June 1st... also the best in baseball.

yea, i know you *******. totally a you thing to pick up a waiver wire guy and he hits 4 dingalings

chit was annoying. had like 2 good days offensively, and while i never led it was very close in a lot of categories

feel like the only categories you definitively won are runs, k's and holds. a good day offensively or pitching wise could have shifted chit. and if i didn't play luis ortiz and bello era and whip ae prolly close

Matchup was close enough that I was still sweating it until yesterday. My team was in control all week but a monster day from you could have easily changed that.

Trout/Ward playing the A's all week was annoying as ****.

Congrats! Hopefully we can face off in the playoffs next year. Makes me feel better knowing that I’d have gotten rolled this week anyways had I beaten krazy. Hard to beat a line like that. Rip to my dream of Goldie winning a MVP while leading me to a ring. Guess we run it back next year.

Krazy, looks like you and I are duking it out to see whose gonna lose the most ‘ships in this league. An illustrious club.

GG Ty, don’t think either of us cared about bronze but was a solid season for you. Fukkin hard to run the gauntlet in the playoffs in this league.

I remember when I dropped Mitch Haniger everyone threw a fit and put him back on my team.

Now I see he’s being picked up to help Saalty win championships no big deal. My how times have changed

GG bro. Congrats on finishing second in the regular season and winning your division.

See you all next year. Finally have a group of keepers I feel good about. Only took 3 years to clean up the mess I inherited from LG

I lol'd, I feel bad for the poor soul who's going to inherit the team he has now. Thankfully we do have some misc posters that are interested next year if needed. It was a struggle to fill the league this year with so many departures. Hopefully next year it won't be a problem. Also I have to give it up to Chills guy, My Couch Pulls Out But I Dont. The guy was active all year and made the playoffs.

Thanks brotha, I think it's time Pro and I stop tag teaming the league. It would be nice to see some of the other OG's in the league win a first.

Wining my 6th is nice but I'm sure winning a 1st would mean a lot more to some of you.

Mets didn't really Met this year. I thought they would and they didn't. They did finally break in October though in a series someone was going to break one way or another.

I'm just glad the Braves road at worst only faces one of LAD or NYM, as opposed to being bounced to the WC and having to potentially go through both. Now that's NYM's problem (LAD first, then possibly going back through the Braves).

Also the Braves are seriously the biggest winners out of all of this. LAD is also going to have a rough NLDS most likely regardless of the NL East result (assuming the Braves/Mets would be winning the WC round), then turn around and probably face the other NL East team in the NLCS. They were always screwed.

We now at least get about as easy of an NLDS as you could ask for by comparison. Can not emphasize how huge it was in lightening the playoff road to take the 2nd bye in the NL this year.

I really will be curious to see how the Mets respond in the WC though. It has to be mentally crippling to go from spending so much time during the season with a bye to the NLDS in your hands to getting kicked down to play the Padres with LAD waiting on the other side even if you do win it.

Bacons Playoff Power Rankings

1. Braves - No homer, but let’s be real the Braves have been the best team in baseball for the past 4 months and again seem to have that “it” factor they had last year. There was a time when I thought the Mets were the ones with that “it” factor, but the Braves came in and said nope, that magic is ours and straight took it from them.

2. Dodgers - On paper still the scariest team. Won an absurd amount of games this year and cruised to the playoffs. No one wants to face this lineup, but their bullpen can be suspect at times.

3. Astros - The road to the WS has never been easier in the AL. Next to the Dodgers, probably the best on paper. Definitely true in the AL. If they don’t make the WS again it will be a huge failure.

4. Mets - As psychologically crippling of a fall as it may be to be playing games on Friday this is still a team that was largely one of the most consistent from start to finish. 100+ Win season backed by two hall of fame aces. Their lineup doesn’t have star power but will antagonize you with pesky singles. Literally the epitome of death by a thousand cuts.

5. Phillies - It’s always been hard to put a finger on this team. It oozes with talent but has yet to really live up to its potential. Still, they’ve finally climbed over the hump to make it to the playoffs. If they’re clicking this team can be scary. Wheeler and Nola are as good of a 1-2 punch as anyone.

6. Yankees - Yankee fans ITT gonna be mad, but this team and fanbase seemed more invested in personal records for Judge than it did fixing its issues down the stretch. What once looked like the perennial favorite early in the year (and honestly an unstoppable force at one point) did a 180 to spend the back half of the season playing .500 ball. Their September showed some signs of life as the silver lining, but not enough for anyone yo fear them.

7. Mariners - Being denied of a playoff birth for so long has this team riding high. Add into the fact they pull the team with arguably the worst pitching out of any playoff team (Jays) and its not hard to see them advancing. Can they ride that momentum a little further to the ALCS or WS? Hard to know. But October is Al about magic and on the AL side of things this is the club that may be feeling it the most right now.

8. Padres - Largely forgotten as the Dodgers pulled away and never looked back, the Padres like the Phillies are stacked with talent. Darvish and Snell are fully capable of matching deGrom and Scherzer. So while the Mets (i.e. Seth Lugo) are busy talking sh*t about getting another chance to play the Braves, they might find that the Padres quietly have plans of their own for a division rival showdown against LAD.

9. Guardians - I actually can’t believe I’m ranking this team in the top 10, and I know they took advantage of one of the weakest divisions in baseball but this team has shown it can lock down any lineup. The Rays aren’t exactly known for an intimidating offense either. Look for a lot of games where 2 or 3 runs might be all it takes to win this series. If the Guardians prevail there, we’ll get a chance to really test their ability to lock down a good offense with the Yankees waiting, who may be ripe for an upset.

10. Cardinals - Personally I don’t think much of the Cardinals. Besides, even if they beat the Phillies, Atlanta isn’t going to appease Helsley twice by putting their tomahawks away. Not when a title defense is on the line. How will Helsley and the Cardinals ever concentrate with all that insensitivity interfering with their ability to perform???

11. Rays - We’ve reached the doldrums of the playoff teams for 2022. The AL as a whole was fairly bad so it’s no surprise the teams that squeaked in to some WC spots are looked upon unfavorably in this list. The Rays have a Cy Young level pitcher, yes. After that it’s ugly. The lineup is a joke and the only reason they’re ranked above the Jays is because I think their matchup with the Guardians will be extremely low scoring where one lucky break could be all it takes. They’ll be relying on luck for even a chance to be squashed by NYY. We’d all be better off if the Guardians take it down for at least a competitive ALDS with the Yankees…. Well except for Yankees fans who probably would look forward to a second bye pushing them into the ALCS.

12. Jays - LMAO let’s just be real, this team is sh*t. We shouldn’t even let Canadian teams in the playoffs to be honest. At least the Cinderella story Mariners will make short work of them.

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I'm actually rooting for the Yankees. No one wants to see us go through the Dodgers and the Astros again literally seeing a rerun in 2022. It'll be far more satisfying to get the 2nd title of this dynasty against NYY.

What are everyone's thoughts on pushing the playoffs up a week and a half? I've felt like this for a few years now, so I'm not trying to cope for krazy or myself or any bs like that. Never been a fan of the last week when all of the top players on winning teams are being given a bunch of days off days etc. We grind all year with our core team and then the ship rides on a 1.5 week that can be a crapshoot.

Again, not trying to make excuses or discount anything, we all play by the same rules each year. Seems like most leagues wrap up the 1.5w before ours to avoid the late season shenanigans.

PS Goldie gonna clap tribe cheeks this playoffs be scurred bacon.

"Yo, come on, we're Arizona State. They wouldn't give him (President Obama) a degree? Really? I mean, even if they offered him one, he should've been insulted. He'd be like, 'I went to Harvard.' I mean, come on, I barely went to class, and they passed me. It's Arizona [expletive] State!" - Terrell Suggs
