Its one thing if you cant find a high paying job in the private sector but if its a government job and you know exactly the range you will be paid over your ENTIRE career, what is there to say? You can push for improved pay but its never going to be a large salary especially when you work nine months a year.
Not to mention the absolute racket of private tutoring where they can stack money as a side-gig, or during their excessive time off.

Maybe a bit off topic but I never went to college - I went to work as an Electrician's apprentice. By age 23 I was making $15 an hour. That was in the 90's In the 2000's I was making about $35k-$45k a year. I then took some after work classes learning AutoCAD and went to work for a General Contract as an Technical associate, which basically checked all the jobs in the field vs. what it said on the blueprints. I would make changes on the blueprints using AutoCAD. I was making $50k+ I started working closely with the Project Managers. I expressed interest in working as a PM so they let me work as an Asst. PM. Then they gave me a job as PM. I left there and went to work as a PM for an Energy Company and an Oil & Gas Company. I have traveled to *****, Australia, Italy, Germany, and all over the continental United States. I now work for a large Utility Company and make over $150k a year. All without setting foot in a college classroom or taking on any college debt.

Maybe so... but I still see some guys doing it through the trades, but I will admit it doesn't seem to be as prevalent as it when 20-30 years ago.

In most cases what happens anymore is some female comes in with a Masters & no experience taking the managerial/admin positions

Honestly I do kind of feel bad for black people who fall into this trap. They get into elite universities with test scores that barely qualify them for a job at McDonald's then get their hand held through numerous pointless degrees and then they start applying for jobs and the second anyone sees their face they know the degrees aren't legit because the system is designed to make it LOOK like they're helping black people, not to actually help them.

My Masters in Education cost me $12k.
5 years later, I am now Head Teacher of Special Education at my high school
Making 6 figures
Was granted a scholarship for more postgrad qualifications
Getting paid to go to University.

What this bird has done is not it.

Having said that, if I was American I would not have become a teacher.

The wife makes over 110k as a HS teacher. Been teaching for 8 years but we are located in California so there's that.
She's in a public school too.
She started at 40k and the pay bumps have been increasingly steadily. The best part: She loves her job.
