Pretty sure I negged him first once and he actually made me red. I've heard the stories about him though so I can imagine that stuff leading to a temp ban from him. Now we barely even have mods anymore. I could prolly name 3 at best.

Back on topic. Any predictions from anybody what's gonna happen now. Obviously NATO is gonna send more weapons and not getting involved in the ground, but what is Russia going to do. More of these bombings?

Unless nato uses nukes its over. They made it clear they wont put boots on the ground. These ukrainian terror attacks are acts of desperation.

They pulled all of their border defense, their kiev defense, etc for this kherson push thats already sputtering out. When the reserves come the country will be wide open

I would have assumed Bakhmut is nothing but dust by now. There was footage of the shelling there and it resembled a scene from a apocalyptic movie. Blasts and raging fires everywhere

Bakhmut is to watch. Sincerely wonder if they will try to last stand or surrender.

Zaporizhia attempts at an offensive. That grouping took some doritos and some missiles I believe (still catching up).

Lyman looks as if it's going for round three in the coming days. Russia moving west off of Defense apparently

Kherson may have a last flail or two but I doubt it. I think they caught some domino's today.

In all Ukraine took 20k plus kia in last month I'd estimate

Yeah especially on the Kharkov and Belarusian border.

Not looking good at all.

Since they only attacked Keiv recently and not initially, I'm not sure what they'd be doing. It's pinning forces in any regard.

They've always been able to take it. I'm not sure if they'd try to do so while keeping it in tact.

Good news fam:

Russia State Duma MP Alexander Tolmachev, when asked by Separatist movements in US: If the American people votes to secede some states from the country and express a desire to join Russia, Moscow will consider it

I'm not sure they pulled Keiv reserves. More likely Odessa from what ive seen.

It's apparent Ukraine was trying a couple last razzle dazzles before being consumed.

Take with brute force is one thing. But they'd probably have to flatten big parts of Kiev and I don't see them holding it without guerilla style repercussions if they don't have significant support from the population. I currently don't see a realistic way how Russia would take and hold more than those 4 provinces and integrate them peacefully into their country.

Russia is using the large geography of Ukraine to its advantage. It has the ability to threaten it from all directions except the West. It is almost like the second Ukraine plugs one leaking hole, another one starts elsewhere. If Russians enter from Belarus, boy will that sting.

I don't see an overall need to take the capital, much less try to hold it. So far as taking and holding ground, 300k recently regained with another 4-600k avaliable in addition to national guard and federal police is doable.

We'll wait and see. I was expecting a negotiation attempt by Russia ahead of something like today. I think it's another bad sign the interest is not there.

I saw an article on the Dutch state propaganda news today that Russia stated they are willing to negotiate and have tried many times but the USA is sabotaging it by rallying on Ukraine into more warfare and providing them support. Dutch news is biased but I don't often see them just straight up lie about stuff, just twist things a lil here and there.

It's armed conflict and those rules apply. The same side of the coin exists when we springboard off of an ally. Your "act of aggression" is necessary to the belligerent. The same applies to Belarus and Russia.

Iraq didn't like us coming off the top rope from Kuwait but we did.

Sure they have offered it previously. I'd hoped they would realize the peril they were in and come to senses. We're way past that and I figured there would be an ultimatum. Once you commit to this level it's offer is almost ridiculous at this point.

"Leave Odessa and Kharkov" level.

Isn't the show of power today intended to do just that though? "Here's what we can do and will continue to do if you don't surrender"? Ukraine's response is asking for more support from the west and basically refusing to back down and give up anything at all.

Although I don't think at this point Russia will just settle for the territories. They want the full regime change AND the territories.

I don't pretend to know what Russia is up to.

I can only gather that they intentionally kept the battlefield small to kill as many Ukrainian military as possible as opposed to just attacking Ukraine with significant force and it being over quickly.

I suppose it prevents a future war or continued conflict.

I really think Russia has been toying with Ukraine.

Honest question without all of the insults please. Who curently has a larger stockpile/production capability. The US or Russia? Is there a chance we are running out of Himars/other things and for Russia the same, are they running out of equipment and rockets?

Not an expert but just based on budget alone I'd assume the USA could outproduce Russia and China together.

From what I read, we won't go below 60% of our stockpile because we need them in case of a China/Taiwan war or another conflict. We've awarded a lot of contracts recently to ramp up our production. We are running out of what we have been giving Ukraine, but we have other equipment to give and Europe can give more equipment. After Europe gives more, we will replace their stockpile in a year or five.

Russia is running out, they have to buy North Korean artillery and they have almost no ability to rebuild their production to the speed we have.

An easy article:

The U.S. has essentially run out of the 155 mm howitzers to give to Ukraine; to send any more, it would have to dip into its own stocks reserved for U.S. military units that use them for training and readiness. But that’s a no-go for the Pentagon, military analysts say, meaning the supplies reserved for U.S. operations are highly unlikely to be affected.

“There are a number of systems where I think the Department of Defense has reached the levels where it’s not willing to provide more of that particular system to Ukraine,” said Mark Cancian, a former U.S. Marine Corps colonel and a senior advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

That’s because “the United States needs to maintain stockpiles to support war plans,” Cancian said. “For some munitions, the driving war plan would be a conflict with China over Taiwan or in the South China Sea; for others, particularly ground systems, the driving war plan would be North Korea or Europe.”
