Is it worth switching to iPhone from Android (srs)

Pretty much never had an iPhone srs, literally been Android crew my whole life and have had my Samsung S9+ for over 4 years now.

The main reason I wanna switch is cos the camera on my S9 is fking chit right now, I like how realistic the iPhone pics are where's Samsung ones look airbrushed.

Yes I know you can do more stuff on an android spec wise but it's getting to the point now where I'm tired of it.

Might just get an iPhone 13 mini as they look aesthetic, or might wait till price goes down on the 14. I plan to buy it outright aswell as I'll save more money in long run compred to a contract.

I'm not an Applecel at all, but honestly as much as i have wanted to switch over to Android, i cant do it. iPhones UI is so nice looking, smooth, user friendly. Every time i pick up an Android and mess with it, it's never a good time.

I went to iPhone this year

I try using my GFs android and I get annoyed. I def think iPhone is more user friendly and everything just seems to run better. Not To mention if I’m ever in need of a charger or whatever, everyone has an iPhone so it’s a good benefit

The only thing I hate about iPhones is i don’t know how to save a video to phone, so I have to screw record everything

Yeah heard it's much easier to use, is iPhone the equivalent of driving an auto car while Android is a manual?

I feel the opposite - whenever I borrow my gf's phone or my kid's ipad I swear I'll never have an iPhone cause the interface is so annoying and feels couter-intuitive

I upgraded from iphone 6s to iphone 11 and noticed it has that airbrush camera too.

Still less airbrush than the Samsung cameras tho.

I was an Androidcel for many years until my teenage nieces talked me into an iPhone. The blue text bubble thing is no joke for little girly girls like that, it's not fair but that's what it is.

I got an iPhone 12 about a year and a half ago for $850 and it really is a smooth running machine that doesnt glitch at all.

My old phone was a Galaxy J33 I got for about $300, and even though it was more customizable, it glitched a lot, especially maps when I was driving. It was also cheap plastic.

In a few years when I am ready for a new phone, I will still consider a high end Android, but have no regerts about the iPhone I have now.

going on vacation/hikes with a bunch of friends and being able to easily airdrop photos to each other in downtime/while driving was really appealing, the one android person that we had to send photos to kept getting ****ty pic quality. I haven't had an android in like 10 years but it felt really convenient and I felt bad for that person having to keep asking us to send pics, was kind of annoying.

My dad is the only one with a Samsung in the family and we can't group chat with him, he's sick of constantly getting texts from someone in the "group" that weren't meant for him/replying to the wrong person etc. lol but he's technologically challenged, so he wants to switch to iPhone.

Some of these things can probably be fixed I'm sure, but not sure how, and that right there is good enough of a reason to keep iPhone. I don't need to go "figure out" anything, I just want the simplicity and don't care about top tier specs. if you like customization, and probably slightly higher quality pics, maybe keep your android. I think part of the reason iPhone is so great, is because of how many people have it and how well it works with others, not even any particular feature of the phone itself.

edit: damn, spent my 1000th post arguing about liking an iphone, what a waste, is it over for me?

The only good Androids are the top-tier models, the mid-tier & below come with unstable OS, lack of updates, bloatware you can't uninstall & constant application issues

Meanwhile you can get a very recent new Iphone for like $300 & avoid those problems entirely

Unless you are extremely phone savvy & willing to reinstall a whole new OS there's really no reason to go Android

Just lmao @ anyone who pays $1000 for a cell phone(Ded Fkn Srs)

That's my anecdotal opinion on the matter anyway, not a phone pro

Apple does the photo granular between Android and Iphone intentionally, just like they do with the text bubble. It makes you feel left out, which people don't like. Yet, all this is easily fixable using FB Messenger or Whatsapp, where a fukin text bubble color doesn't matter. All those things are so easily fixable, but most people aren't tech savy. You can just link the album of photos via google photos. And at full quality.

So if you want to buy from a company with 50% profit margin with slave labor and suicide nets around their factories, by all means go for it.

No it’s more along the lines of a car that works, looks good, and is fun to drive and reliable VS a beat up car that works half the time, has knobs in all the wrong places, and generally just unpleasant to look at and think about.

Not an Applecell but I have switched from iPhone to Android. After a year I couldnt stand it any longer and switched back to iPhone. Sometimes I get tempted to try Andorid again but I cant be bothered.

Android is the equivalent of Windows. You can do whatever you want and tweak it to your hearts content. However there is a downside - coming from iPhone, Android appears to do weird things at times. I got tired of trying to figure out what was sucking the battery down - there were tons of things running all time. Android OS updates broke lots of things. A lot of the apps were crap.

iPhone is much smoother and integrated. If you have a Mac the level of integration is incredible.

If you just want an appliance that works with no twiddling, thats the iphone. If you want to mod your phone till your brain explodes, than Android is your thing.

I have an iphone 13 pro and the pictures it takes are incredible. No airbrushing.

First bolded part is exactly what I don't want to do though tbh, hate Whatsapp, and seriously hate messenger, rather just have one spot to communicate e.g. my regular text messages (and imessage obviously) I don't want multiple apps to accomplish the same thing.

Second bolded part I agree with, and have better things to worry about than trying to become tech savvy, just to intentionally isolate myself from the "group"? Seems silly. Rather just pay for the thing that works right out of the box with everyone else's stuff.

Don't really give a sh it about the labor issue personally, no hate if you do. None of those large companies are doing "everything" right and will do whatever they can get away with to beat earnings etc.

Not asking anyone to agree, just sharing a view point

my work issued phone is an android (galaxy s21 so not some no name trash) and it's a piece of chit. ded srs

- i get spam messages to my text message app constantly.. almost daily (da fuq?? rarely get spam on iOS i guess apple does a good job filtering them out)
- doing simple tasks takes extra few steps such as changing the wallpaper.
- ui looks ugly and everything is unorganized
- why do i have notification badges for chit i've already viewed? i have to long press the app to clear notifications? seems a bit odd.
- literally NOTHING makes sense on the operating system. nothing flows together well
- apps are garbage in comparison to iOS apps

i'm sure most of the above can be fixed by tweaking the settings but you shouldn't need to tweak the settings for a phone to work properly. don't even get me started on al the bloat software pre-installed as well.

only thing i like is the fingerprint reader. faceid is garbage in comparison.
