So I just got my first computer and my brother in law just showed me how to use google and the internet the other day. When I was left to myself I got curious and I searched for the average sex partners and I was shocked to see that all the stats are over 5+ partners. Whether the statistic is 7.2 or 9 or 10 it confuses me how this number, as an average especially, is so high.

Is there anyone who can explain to me how this number is so high because I can't seem to explain it to myself, probably because of my own limited sexual experiences and overall lack of involvement in social things. Really in the dark on this one and wondering what goes on in peoples lives.

Keep in mind how averages work. Let's suppose it's Bill Gates and 3 people in a room. You 3 make 50k a year. Gates makes 2 billion a year. Cool dude, the average salary in the room is 500 million a year. WOW you must all be super rich huh? Point being that the extremely promiscuous throw off the stats substantially. The average is not representative of the population.
