Tear it all down.

At a minimum Boone has to go. Never been a fan of him. I'm tired of his dopey face.

Cashman needs to go too. He has failed for 13 years now. Trading for Donaldson was horrible. We are now stuck with him for 2 more years.

He's also missed out on Verlander/Cole in trades that should have been made. lol @ not trading for Cole because he didn't want to give up Frazier. Also could have easily signed Rodon in 2021 as a high upside play. White Sox only gave him $3m. The list goes on and on.

Neither will probably happen. Hal will keep everything same since it's working for him. His goals: Record profits > Remain Competitive > World Series Titles are a bonus.

Also TBH I think Judge walks. I could see him going to The Giants.

I'm 70-30 Judge goes....Rizzo opts out too.

Gleyber traded (arb eligible), Hicks traded. We have Donaldson for one more year, team option in '24 (absolutely not). IKF is already gone. Maybe Carpenter get a small deal to come back, but i'm fine if hes gone.

Imagine cheering for two MLB teams and seeing them meet in the World Series

We are all losing due to the fact Mel disappeared before this unprecedented showdown!

Yeah Rizzo is opting out for sure. He can def get a 2+ year deal. Taillon is also gone.

Not really looking good for the Yankees. We have a lot of payroll coming off the books. Mainly due to bullpen FA's. Not sure we spend that $$ though. We'll probably just go with the typical Band-Aid solutions.

I mean maybe the Yankee could pull off some sort of Ohtani trade. I doubt it though.

I don't think Ohtani wants to come to NY honestly...last thing we need is a guy here with half our prospects gone (Peraza/Volpe to be sure) that doesn't wanna be here. I Want Peraza, Cabrera, Volpe up next year and starting.

1B. Resign Rizzo
2B. DJ/Peraza
3B. Arenado could opt out...dont think he will tho. Maybe DJ here.
SS. Volpe/Peraza
C. Trevino/Higgy

OF. Judge, Bader, Cabrera, Benny

P. I mean Degrom will opt out and be available for 10 seconds, but we won't outbid the Mets. Verlander is fukcin 40 y/o...but maybe (Cy too). Manaea, Rodon, Bassitt, Wacha....man I dunno

If Judge leaves that's a sub .500 team. I mean **** they were sub .500 the second half of the season. That OF would be atrocious along with the rest of the lineup.

Also what to do about the bullpen? Bullpen is garbage. I'm not sure this team gets fixed in one year.

I wouldn't mind if the Yankee took a flyer on Bellinger. He's been hot garbage but he'd come cheap.

Bellinger would provide elite defense. His strikeouts haven't always been an issue. He's had some years under 20%. I think a change of scenery would be good for him.

Baders defense is elite in CF. Take him 10000 times over Bellinger....not to mention I cant stand Bellingers face

Do your lineup is

1B. Rizzo
2B. Peraza
SS. Volpe
3B. Donaldson (Possible Arenado but you think he won't Opt out)
OF. Bader
OF. Benny
OF. Cabrera
C. Trevino/Higgy
DH. Stanton

No Judge since you think there's a 70/30 chance he's leaving. That lineup screams last place finish.

I might not be remembering this properly, but didn’t the MLB used to go ahead and start the series by sliding up the schedule if both teams had advanced early and were ready to go?

Not recently, this was at least like 10 years ago I feel like I last remember it happening. Or maybe it was never a thing? Anyone else remember this or is it in my head?

Either way lmao at waiting until Friday. What the f*ck MLB?

"Judge is at the top of the Giants list and they won't be underbid." the person said. "If they miss out, it won't be because of money."

"The Giants are not going to stop with Judge " the person said. "They have so much money freed up."

Yikes it ain't looking good. Judge already confirmed he won't be taking a home town discount.

100% I want judge back...but...he's going to get close to $40 million a year, and at his age, eek. I'd guess 8/$320mil-ish, which is going to be a horrible contract for whoever pays it. Out of his 62 HR's, i'd guess 15-20 were little flicks over the right field wall at home. Can't do that in SF, or LA, so he's going to the NL (new pitchers, new league) in a park like that, 35-40 HR guy maybe, which is still great, but....

if we re-sign him for that contract, its gonna be terrible in 2-3 years and I feel like our window is closing rather than opening.

I agree, I'm totally against giving out long term, high dollar contracts to players over 30. If Judge walks he walks. The Yankees will be hurt short term. Long term though it should work out on their favor.

Also you're wrong on your assumption he'd hit that many less HRs. I think I saw something not that long ago that showed he only had 2 Cheap RF HRs. Then there is is. Looks like his HR output wouldn't change all that much.

Interesting.......sure seems like watching every game this year he hit more than a few like 320' barely over the wall. Even tried it in Houston only to have Tucker catch it at the warning track.

Either way...he wont come close to 60 again if he's not in Yankee stadium....especially the way he likes to go oppo

At Yankee stadium his HRs were 39%/22%/39% to LF/C/RF. He had a higher SLG and more HRs on the road. I believe he only hit 7 HRs that would be outs in half the stadiums. 4 of those were on the road.

I'm not saying he'll hit 60 HRs again. I'm saying if he doesn't it won't be because he left Yankee stadium.

8 years for $35mil...maybe, but getting into the $40mil per year territory.......I just dunno. I mean how many more Jerseys can he sell.....what Yankees fan's family doesn't have 3/4 already? lol

Dodgers going after Judge, Betts moving to 2B

I’m sorry but the Dodgers are the biggest joke in baseball. This team lands every big name in the book and has an all-star lineup every year. I don’t care if they always win the West and put up 110 win seasons, completely pathetic they have no real World Series wins other than a covid shortened season

Lmao at this team. I say let them land Judge and watch them choke every October like clockwork.

At least they spend the money they make from the fans. Unlike the Yankees.

Blindly handing out contracts without any thought isn't admirable. They're ruining baseball by monopolizing a bunch of it in one place. The irony is that yes, they still find ways to lose but only because the playoffs are a small sample size and the teams they go up against do also have talent. But the ripple effects across the league during the season are still felt.

Teams like Arizona and Colorado literally have no shot to ever pay at that level. Even if they spent what they bring in properly, we're basically eliminating them off the board with a paycheck because there's no rules that say the Dodgers aren't allowed to do it. It's a joke. The Dodgers can seriously f*ck off.

I'm aware the Mets had a higher payroll this year, but you look at the track record of LAD and it's sustained much longer.

2021 - $275 mil.... NYY at $216 mil being the next closest.
2020 - $131 mil... only NYY had a payroll above $100 mil that year

They did dip down in 2019 and 2018, but going back further 2017 spent $40 mil more than the 2nd highest payroll. 2016 spent $30 mil higher than 2nd highest. 2015 the Yankees were within $17 mil but no one else was within $60 mil of LAD

That's a joke. MLB actually does need to start considering a cap. LAD is abusing this something hardcore. Even when the Yankees used to spend a bunch back in the day the disparity was never this exacerbated. For reference the Yankees spent $88 mil in 1999 but there were 9 teams that spent at least $70 mil. Yes the Yankees were consistently the highest spenders back then, but again it's the disparity LAD is fueling that's the larger problem here.

Should the bottom feeders be spending more? Of course I completely agree. But when LAD is spending at an outrageous clip can you even blame them for not wanting to try? Even if they spent properly they can't land the talent to compete, so what's the point? Might as well rake in the profit margins.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Not arguing if it's good or not for baseball. As someone who spends $$ I'd rather that money go to players vs lining the owners pockets.

Even the luxury tax isn't enough to detract the big market teams from just grabbing every top FA...it is what it is. Dodgers need a real Championship, not the gumball machine 2020 one, I can see them offering Judge ridiculous money, Giants too and thats ultimately whats gonna land judge. No player is leaving $20, $30, $40 million dollars on the table.....its financially stupid and the players union would strongly oppose a player doing that, because its gonna hurt the next player.

70-30 he's gone.

lol yeah right......nobodies giving him a contract into his 40's.

8/$320 would probably get it done.....with 4/$160m being dead money
