How can I ascend to the next level in life? (srs)
Where can I go from here? I am late twenties, career, etc, but I dislike not having something to works towards.
I want to become more successful and ascend to the next level. Looking for advice from older miscers who are successful and might have advice on how to ascend.

Just depends on the things you value most in life and the areas you want to improve upon. IMO there are only 2 situations where I would ever careermax: if you can be among the best in your field in something that changes the world, or if you can make ****loads of money (talking million+ per year). Hobbies are good for filling spare time and interacting with others depending on the hobby. Romance is nice but I'm in no position to give advice there, and frankly the whole falling in love thing seems to be rarer and rarer nowadays, especially if we're talking reciprocal love.

Go on more vacations, even if it's by yourself. Take off work for a week and plan a get-away at another city, resort, maybe even a cruise. Meet new people on those things, those are the types of people living a fun-seeking life and building connections, you might even meet some girls. Do this every 3-4ish months, as you're able to do so from a financially responsible perspective. Outside of that keep disciplined, both in body and mind.
If you're like me (WFH, gamer all day, enjoy alcohol and weed) you probably have a high dopamine baseline. Some thrilling stuff can happen and you might not feel the impact as much as you would if your baseline was brought down a few knotches. Make the carrots on the stick both grander and with less frequency. To lower your dopamine baseline, try looking at your free time and chopping off things that support that mundane higher dopamine baseline (fapping often, numerous hours of gaming and "watching" things in general like movies and tv shows), replace those events instead with trying out new diverse things. Come up with an ideal like, every week you gotta give one new hobby an honest try, even if you're not fully sold on it. Also try to occupy some of that time with clubs/get-togethers found from local public facing social media groups. Get more naturally social activities integrated back into your lifestyle.

I did go on a long cruise recently by myself and I got a few new friends out of it, some who live really close - we've hung out some since. That trip is easily a top 3 memory of mine.
I think joining some beginner-friendly tennis groups would be cool. Or perhaps even a group that does some card games or board games I like, there's a nearby arcade that hosts those kinds of things and has a routine consistent clique of folks that participate.
One guy I know just started getting into MMA, which doesn't sound like a bad idea if you're open to being humbled and approach it with an inquisitive mind.
