When I was in catholic HS religion class was mandatory. I remember once I failed a test badly. One question was "what evidence is there of god", I answered "no evidence other than faith" and I got the answer wrong. The teacher told me the correct answer is "there is no beginning or end of the universe" or some crap like that.

I don't understand how that can be considered evidence or proof of God. I want to believe in God but that's bullchit. I would prefer the "man could never understand god" answer but thats weak as fuhk too.

always fuking lol when incompetent pseudointellectuals attempt to disparage religion when they can't even grasp its concept

This is evident in the questions being asked in the OP... they are completely irrelevant to the core of religion and its practical application. If you don't understand this, you need to get off the misc and read some books. I won't explain it for you... but will point you towards Lao Tzu/Tao Te Ching, Eckhart Tolle, Alan Watts, The Confucian Analects, etc... do enough reading and reflection/meditation and this entire thread shouldn't be a discussion (srs)

Most miscers don't have the ability to comprehend this sort of topic, but if you can, it will change your life once you understand it (whether you call that enlightenment, salvation, zen, etc. they all point to the same idea as their respective religions do)

If you think anything you posted has anything to do with religion or its application, you are utterly lost (srs)

Feel free to keep posting about random ideas that have nothing to do with what you think they do. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of your existence was just as meaningless (srs)

Religion strikes an emotional chord in many people who don't get it. I understand it myself because I was an angsty atheist in middle school. I completely get the misdirected emotions that people like the OP have, and why they project it. All I can say is that those people are lost and will suffer because of it. Hopefully they understand one day, but it doesn't affect me. That's all (srs)

The fact that you believe that’s all there is to it indicates your lack of understanding. For instance, the ability to see good and evil is not obvious without the moral gauge of the Bible. Again, this is why dictators are elected by large numbers of voters. Not because of something so simple as raping and murdering. Its because they don’t have the understanding of what is good and what is evil. Example; socialism and fascism are evil, but yet so many today are totally on board with it and think it’s virtuous. Then they use the central government to coerce people in to compliance through voting, all for the “greater good”. This is antichrist behavior, and most Christians understand using the government as a weapon against the people to force their will on to others is a form of evil. Think about COVID, the climate agenda, the global agenda…they believe the end justifies the means. Now we have an actual fascist dictator in power and people are beginning to suffer. Its all the result of a Godless society.

On a final note, God teaches us what is within our power and what isn’t. An understanding of what we can and cannot control tells us that attempting to control others, and events, that are not within our control, is evil. These individuals also can’t tell the difference between tragedy and evil, so they themselves do evil in response.
One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.

Interesting questions to think about OP. Whether someone is a believer or not, I think it is interesting to think about the nature of God. The thing is our little human brains are stretched thin trying to comprehend an existence other than our own. Creations, beginnings, endings, etc. really only have meaning within the context of time. As humans, when we think of the term eternal, we think of it in relation to our own existence i.e., living forever. Basically, still constrained by linear time, just without an ending point. What if there was a being that existed outside of time entirely? Beginnings and endings don't really have a meaning anymore, at least in the way we think of them.

Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

Make no mistake, people like this will get what is coming to them (on an existential level). By partaking in the same mental gymnastics they partake in (which is required for the arguments they use, as we know the mind cannot find God) we reconcile ourselves to their position - one that is characterized by overly active, dysfunctional, and ultimately unproductive mind activity, which we know brings them further away from Being.

Sometimes I believe there is discourse necessary from a position of Positivity and Good to reveal the negativity underneath - I should not have called him a Boy, I recognize that, and it weakens my position. I appreciate you revealing that back to me.

I say to you, look at how just the very nature of this conversation has awakened and brought the Demons within certain users to the surface.

Perhaps with time and introspection they might gain the awareness to see why they would allow such energies to manifest outwardly, when it manifests outward, it is because it is manifested inward.

Rollerball, I apologize to you, while you would seek to dismantle the Joys and Hopes that we hold dear, I know it is not of You, but the spirits that manifest within (Ephesians 6:12)

Well what was there before the universe? How did any of this come into existence? Even BBT hypothesizes a condensed mass of material that expanded to form the universe as we know it. What is beyond the edge of the universe? Another universe? Nothing? What is nothing?

1: How did the first anything appear, I'm talking first spec of energy in the empty darkness of space, or for the reddit types that say 'hur-dur black holes create something from nothing' how did the first black hole or whatever is beyond the first black hole appear? The entire premise of God is that he/it is the supernatural uncaused origin of caused things that technically has to exist according to our human perception of reality.

2: There doesn't even need to be some grand reason brah, a big void of nothingness is pretty bland. If you gave a human eternal life and stuck them floating in a big void of nothingness they'd regress into their imagination and start creating things in their head with nothing else to do. Some religions have somewhat more indepth explanations for why certain things are the way they are, for instance in Christianity humans specifically are created in a way that to some degree resembles God as a sort of physical-plane children to him.

If you want to get into the finer details, the Brahman might be a good start, the Upanishads is one route.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahma...ysical_concept
In Hinduism, Brahman (Sanskrit: ब्रह्म) connotes the highest universal principle, the ultimate reality in the universe.[1][2][3] In major schools of Hindu philosophy, it is the material, efficient, formal and final cause of all that exists.[2][4][5] It is the pervasive, infinite, eternal truth, consciousness and bliss which does not change, yet is the cause of all changes.[1][3][6] Brahman as a metaphysical concept refers to the single binding unity behind diversity in all that exists in the universe.

There is great wisdom to be had, in the search for knowledge of the Divine, but some things are not meant to be known or understood.

I have reason to believe that the Divine as we know it, in the West, is the same Divine as is in the East. The only differences is the 'meat and potatoes' of it all. That Spirit of Goodness within us all is universal, it knows no bounds, it travels across language barriers and oceans vast and wide as we are all interconnected through vibrational frequencies.
