The lowest point I've ever reached on a material level was living in a homeless shelter at the Salvation Army.

Was employed the entire time, and thanks to hard work and the kindness of others, I was able to get on my feet again.

Life has really been a roller coaster of extreme ups and downs but I am ready to calm things down and raise a family.

Right now I am in the valley, but it has been much worse in the past, and I'm climbing the mountain again.

People have their judgments but how can they understand what I have been through? What can they tell me?

So I don't sweat it, I just keep pushing forward, it ain't over til it's over and there is only one judge for me.

I've been in bad places before. I have shared with a couple people some of the things that have happened and I'm not sure they believed me. But I have learned that no matter how bad things seem, things can always be worse.

I have been homeless, gone hungry, lived surrounded by death and destruction and famine, but many have it much worse.

Like those who were enslaved in Auschwitz, the kids living on the Gaza Strip or in Syria, war torn regions in Africa, extreme poverty in Latin America and Asia.

I would not say people suffering from homelessness, hunger, or violence in the first world are weak for pointing out their problems. The USA is not a utopia.

I do agree that a man needs to be strong, no matter his circumstance.

Poverty and suffering is not an Olympic sport to compare and compete, it binds people together through shared suffering.

The world really is like one big ghetto, the wealthy countries are not the majority, let alone the wealthy regions in those countries.

As a man, you have to confront it head-on for the ones you love. In my faith, speaking up for the rights of the poor is a command of God.

There is a difference between a man whining about circumstances that are his own fault, and a man who speaks truth to power in defense of the poor.

We can sit around going "You think you have it bad? Well what about me, you p*ssy?"

Or we can say, "You do have it bad, and you are not alone, we need to work together to make things better."

Rock bottom doesn’t exist, at least for me. It can always get worse. Even when I was temporarily disabled and couldn’t walk due to nerve damage, I still managed to **** my life up more lol.

I'm in a valley in life right now but it definitely isn't rock bottom. It has been way worse for me, life sucks but I know it will get a little better at least.

I have never hit rock bottom.
Every person that I can think of, that I know, who has comes at least close to rock bottom is/was a loser.
Not that EVERYONE who hits rock bottom is a loser. Just my experience.
